It was roughly 4-5 months ago that I found myself looking for a custom fixed blade to be built. I had made a thread on the forums seen here looking for potential knife makers. I had gone through several potential knife makers before I came to Big Chris. I recalled seeing some of his knives on the forums and went out to contact him. Chris, was very patient, had communication, and was open to most designs. He worked with me throughout the entire process of designing the knife and I have a few pictures below to show.

Through the start of our transaction, he would update me with pictures once something had been done or completed. Though many were as a reply to my request. In regards to Chris's patience as a knife maker, let the picture speak for itself--as you can see, I had sent quite a few emails.

In regards to his flexibility as a knife maker, he has overdone himself. The knife that I requested to be done, was something unlike all the other knives he had completed. It was something different, a change, and a learning experience for Chris; however, he was open to what I had in mind and worked with me throughout the proces. In the pictures below you can see the drawings and template that led to the final product.

Now I'm pretty sure most of you are impatient and just skipped over to the pics ;), but as a final statement, I would recommend Big Chris Custom Knives to anyone looking for an affordable, custom made, "supersteel", and well crafted knife.

I really like this knife I hope it's treating you well. I just picked up two Big Chris blades off the custom section and I can't wait to get them. He makes really nice nonsense bades with a nice attention to detail. Just curious is that a cream G10 stripe looks very striking against the wood.

I have owned 10 or more of his knives and they are always top notch. I have always said, his knives speak for themselves (fit and finish, using super steels like 10V, S90V, 3V, etc.) but his customer service is a few levels above other makers. He is a pleasure to deal with and is always available to answer questions. He will also do about any knife work you can come up with. (Recently a regrind and a rehandle.) It gets no better in my opinion.

WOW...I posted this over 3 months ago haha and had no replies and suddenly they pop up. In the picture the bog oak looks very matte and dull, but after some finishing on my own with a mild abrasive, the bog oak looks really nice.

As to the cream stripe it is a ivory or paper micarta. It does go well with the bog oak, but the issue I have with it is that it stains easily from dyes...just like the dye that colors it sheath >.> That aside though, the knife is treating me well and I currently have a toothy edge with polished bevels that will eat up tomatoes like no one's business.

I ought to put up some pics of the knife since this thread was randomly bumped. Maybe tomorrow. Anyhow in my dealing at least, Chris is a great guy to work with so feel free to run an idea by him. The worst he can say is no.
