Ok, so close to a year ago (don't know exact dates) I had worked out a deal with Chris. I had purchased a S90V coffin handle knife from him some time before and he had expressed interest in having it back through our many conversations. Well, I had a H.I. Kukri that I wanted rehandled as well as have a folder blade reground. I offered to trade the S90v knife back to him in trade for the work and he agreed.

I had the folder reground right away and sent back to me. I had expressed to Chris many times that I was in no hurry for the kukri and that he could take all the time he needed.

Fast forward to yesterday. I was expecting a package from Chris that had my rehandled kukri, a knife I had just purchased from him as well as a knife that he sharpened for me and fixed the sheath on. I opened it up to find all of that.... And an S90V coffin handled knife! He actually did all of that work for me and then returned my payment (knife) back to me for "being patient" while he had my kukri.

I cannot express how thankful I am to Chris Berry. I have done quite a bit of business with him in the past and will continue, not only because of the great knives but because of what a great guy he is. If you ever need a great knife with unbelievable customer service, Big Chris is your man.

Chris built me one and he is a great guy to work with. I am too buried with work now to design a new one. Maybe after end of the govt fiscal year.

Chris did a regrind on my XM18. It was a spanto grind and he made it a slicer grind. Chris did a fantastic job on the knife blade, it turned out better than I thought. The communication was fantastic. I have gotten three knives from Big Chris and plan to get more. I like that Chris uses a variety of steels for his knives and is knowledgeable on the steels he uses. A professional guy to do business with.

What shop or what does Big Chris go under? Hearing such glowing reviews I'd like to check out his work. When you have people saying the things they are, you know this is a good maker. (Minus Mrs. Big Chris, YOU HAVE TO FEEL THAT WAY... At least that is what my wife tells me when I tell her she's awesome. ;-) )

Go to the knife makers for sale forum and scroll through. You'll see the knives Big Chris has for sale now and a link to his web page. :)

Yep, or on the upper right of the page, search Big Chris Custom. Lots of knives in very shape, size and steel you can think of. Warning though, they are addictive....

I have a kitchen knife from Chris that I simply love. I've had the pleasure of meeting Chris at Blade and he couldn't be a nicer guy and certainly knows what he's doing.

I remember that kitchen knife. A looker. Tell us about it. He can get his grinds thin, seriously thin.

Chris is a good guy, I had a transaction with him in a round about way a while back and he was good to deal with. I need one of his knives though.

Chris is without a doubt a top maker and it doesn't hurt that he's easy to work with. I have a few of his pieces, all are outstanding and I've been slacking in singing his praises. He offers top steels that few makers offer like M2, PD1, 4V and 10V. All have come with incredible edges and comfortable handles. I hope to get a few more from him in the future, still need some Big Chris M390, S90V and 3V.
