I got some M2 to play with a while ago and turns out it is a really nice steel to work with. The edge holding I have experienced has been close to that of M4. Being a cast steel with large carbides it also has an aggressive cutting nature to it akin to D2. I also like that it takes a nicer finish than M4 or CPM 3V.

That is a very beautiful knife, Chris! Was thinking about Purchasing a Boreal from DSKW... but this brute looks like it would serve just as well or better. Perhaps I should make up my mind quickly before some lucky person makes it up for me!
 
You shouldnt advertise another maker in Chris' sale thread. Let me help you decide. Chris' work is stupendous, clean lines, even grinds, perfect finish on the micarta. The only thing better than his handy work is his customer service, trust me, a purchase from Big Chris is the way to go.

No harm done - being a good citizen on the BF can be a matter of experience. I will add that Chris's knives are cutting machines.
