Big Congrats David Sharp (Best New Maker)

Scott and I both got to handle David's work and it was very impressive - a well-deserved award!

One thing I like most about your work is your mark, its sharp.

Congrats

David's knives are crisp and clean, and he had a super cool finish/texture treatment on the blades that I loved.

I was trying not to post until I got pics from Jim Cooper.

Thanks for all the words guys! I posted on the BladeForums FB page that I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the Custom and Handmade forum. When I was recuperating and had a ton of time on my hands I spent most of it here perusing and getting educated. The depth of talent both maker and collector is staggering and I have made some very good friends.

So here is the knife that got me Best New Maker and the knife I went up against Scott with (I realized I finished it just before getting on the plane gotta wait for Coop's pics).

Again thanks everybody!

David I have been aware of loveless style knives since I was a child

When I was young I was interested in them but grew away from them. You have truly brought me back to them

And your not a a bad fellow either :)

What you have grown into as a maker in such a short time has garnered you some very well earned respect.

When STeven told me about you ........well all I can say he certainly isn't wrong much and he was definitely right about you ..
Simple put....top notch :)

BTW the bathroom pic is a poke at Joe (the king of photography). When I went to get photographed (mugshot) David Mirabile was extolling the virtues and quality of Joe's photography.

The difference is when I extol David's virtue I'm not lying when he does mine he is :)
