Big Coppery Thanks to Paul!! **Now improved with even more Copper--aaaaand...Bob!! :)

Well, I just opened a letter from Bob, AKA BigBiscuit. He had seen the Jules-Verne-esque, Steampunk beauty of the copper flashlight Paul gifted me, and sent me a copper dog tag to go with it. What a guy. It looks great and I love it! Thanks Bob!!

Bob and I had never exchanged anything by post, so I didn't have his address and he didn't have mine. He secretly reached out to Paul behind my back to get my address in order to ship the copper tag. Fortunately for me, Paul was quite promiscuous with my address and gave it to Bob for the purpose of the clandestine shipping. I think the terms "grateful" and "floozy" and "address" might have been PMed to Bob, but I'll neither confirm nor deny anything and stick to the 5th Amendment. ;) :D

The gift was unexpected and is very much appreciated! Just a carefully-planned act of kindness. :)

This is a great porch to hang out on with some of the best folks!!

Here are some pics of it on my keychain:

Robb, thanks for starting this thread publicizing some of the generosity of forum members!:cool:
I think you're correct in your opinion that some folks here are not only generous, but devious.:D:eek:
I, too, have been the "victim" of the generosity of Paul and Bob. Not only that, but in my case as well as in yours, those two gentlemen exhibited an inclination for "color coordination"! :p

I had the good fortune to win a chestnut bone Sodbuster Jr. in a GAW that Bob sponsored; beautiful knife:

Once I'd received it, I suddenly started noticing photos of chestnut bone swayback jacks showing up all over, and expressed my admiration for those knives; I was imagining what a nice pair the chestnut-covered beauties would be. Out of the blue, Paul offered to send me his swayback jack!! Here's a pic of the happy couple:

My point is that here's another instance of Paul and Bob bringing color coordination to a fellow member's previously-drab life, although in my case, I had no suspicion of collusion between Bob and Paul.

But here's a brief exchange between Paul and me soon afterwards:
Great photo of superb knives, Paul!:thumbup: My wife claims I have no sense of color at all, but I think the semi-matching colors of your knives is very appealing. ;)

Thanks Gary, I appreciate your compliment:thumbup: I think a few here whether intentional or not color coordinate their knives. My attire on the other hand is more haphazard:o
...

Although Paul tried to downplay it, I see this as more evidence that Paul advocates color coordination when possible, and your evidence, Robb, suggests that Bob does the same. Those two can be painted with the same brush!! :D:eek::D Not only are they both generous to a fault, but they both want to make the world a more harmonious place by imposing their color schemes on us. And I appreciate it!:thumbup:

Yes, Paul is a great friend and giver! He gave me a SAK Pioneer/Soldier not long ago and it rides and cuts like a dream. I can name a long list of folks here and elsewhere that have been very kind and generous to me over the last 10 years. Charlie, Barry, Phil, Dale, Glenn and Paul are just a few I can recall off hand.

I really like the copper Maratac flashlights and often carry one of mine with my Coppersmith small lockback. I have the CR123, the AA and the AAA, which is my favorite. Great photo!

Robb, Bob, Perry, Gary and all others visiting this neat thread. First off the four mentioned should open a law firm:D

I can just hear the receptionist know: Robb, Bob, Perry and Gary Law Firm how can I direct your call:p

Seriously, what a place we have here, like Perry mentioned so many of us (myself to many times to count) have been on the receiving end of extreme generosity. I hate to even begin naming all those great people for fear I KNOW I will leave one or more out.

That said---this camaraderie, generosity and plain just being NICE is recognized and shared by so many. Our Mods (thanks guys) have a tedious job (one that I wouldn't want to tackle) but I can only imagine that it must be less stressful here than other forum do to the fine folks that reside on this wonderful porch:cool:

Gary, it is somewhat true that my daily pocket carry items are far more fashionable then my day to day attire. Nanc often says "lets see, a T-Shirt and Blue Jeans...hummm"

A buddy I once worked with asked "do you even own a shirt with a collar":D

Lots of great chestnut and copper Robb.:thumbup:;)

You have to keep a keen eye on some of these members in this thread.

Luckily, I never caught the sneaky from them ! :o

I don't know about Robb, Bob, and Perry, but anyone who comes to me for legal advice has serious problems!
T-Shirt and Jeans sounds like an ideal wardrobe to me, although since I'm not a very warm-blooded creature, I'd probably have to supplement the T-Shirt with a hoodie (or a flannel shirt with collar for dressy occasions) about 8 months out of the year. I don't know much about micarta handles, but could I get flannel micarta handles on a knife to match my shirt??:p:confused: That, to me, would be the height of fashion!! :D:D
(I have to confess that I sometimes tell my students that when it comes to drugs and fashion, I just say no.)

Robb, that's a great looking trio. I've been hospitalized all week (still there) so I'm just trying to catch up a bit. I had my wife bring my iPad and a knife to boost my spirits.
They look like they were all meant to be together.

Get better Bob...your in my prayers my friend:thumbup:

Thank you Paul. Having a rough go at it lately. Not doing well at all. No idea when I'll be going home right now.

Oh, man! Bob, I'm sorry to hear that you're not doing well! I remember seeing a post earlier this week (or maybe even last week) where you said you'd be finding out if you had to be hospitalized. I was happy to see that you kept on posting in all sorts of threads afterwards, so I was very thankful that you were apparently still home; maybe I was wrong though. But after not seeing any posts from you anywhere over the past couple of days, I got worried. I've been praying for you and your family at least once each day since your GAW back around the holidays, and it's pretty easy to remember to do so with that fine Sodbuster Jr. in my pocket every day as a reminder. I'll do my best to keep up with the praying, and you and your docs do your best to keep up with the getting better. Deal?

I'm sorry to hear this, Bob. Smoke prayers for you.
