big fighter with walrus

Your work never ceases to impress and inspire. Excellent lines all the way around, fantastic handle and maybe the most interesting and visually appealing hamon I've ever seen. I like how the texture that runs out on the upper part of the blade echoes and reflects the character of the hamon. O wait thats what Join said and I could not say it any better then that. Smoking hot very nice

love the handle and blade shape but while the rest of the treatment is well executed as usual, I like so many of the other knives I see you do a lot better but then of course if we all liked the same thing you would get bored doing that over and over again and we would not get to see so many of your fine creations. Thus we never get bored and enjoy the opportunity to view your current and future threads.

AMAZING!!!
When i look at a piece of yours, my eyes seem like kids at disneyland...running restless everywhere

thank you all for your kind posts, I´m glad you like this fighter!

@murray,
cool reasoning!;)
you convinced me to show here my ´´current and future threads.´´:D:D

@david,
I´m absolutely happy how the hamon came out here...
and I´ll be frustrated, when the next hamon after the same quench comes out boring-
our craft stays surpricing.

A stunning knife. I normally don't like any forging scale left on the blade. Just not my thing. In this case the way the forging scale left above the grind line compliments the fantastic hamon is just amazing. The almost organic flow of the
handle into the blade is perfect. A true work of art.

It looks like the claw of a mythic creature, a trophy from a slain dragon!

Who needs legendary Wayland when we have Wieland the Smith!

May I ask how you prepare the surface of the bronze fittings before you patinate them? It does not look like it's stippled, but it has a really nice slightly rough matt finish. Did you use muriatic acid or cold gun blue for the patination?

@RI_Sooter,
the bronze is carved with a coarse rotating tool and dremel, then sandblast and brushed with a steelwire.
the patination is done with a sort of ´cold gun blue´ for bronze: ´Oxidbeize Gosiba´ or ´Pariser Rot´

@chrispinky1967,
prices only by mail or PM- thanks

Thank you. I am going to try something similar, but with a far less sophisticated shape to the guard. The way you carve your guards to match the flow of the handle and blade is remarkable. I wish I had even a fraction of your artistic ability.
I will say it again. An absolutely stunning knife in every way.

Instantly recognizable as your masterful work. It's all been said already, but how can I not add to the above comments: OMFG!!

D'ere Gerhard!

Einfach nur wunderschön! Die fließenden Linien stehen diesem Kraftprotz ausgesprochen gut! Weckt spontane Will-Haben-Gelüste... :D ;)

Liebe Grüße,
Alex
