BIG Finished ELMAX Blades . . . . Janitor's Closet??? . . . . Huh???

Yup spend them dollars now before they are worthless. Hyperinflation may be around the corner. $1.50 gas is great when you are filling up but it means there are some big problems down the road.
 
My 401k consists of guns, knives, body armor and other accoutrements.

I will probably buy some ELMAX

All the body armor I've ever been issued only had a 5 year service life though, so I wouldn't think it makes a good investment.

So instead of satinesque traditional big finish it's double cut.... That kills it.

We have asked for the big finish or competition finish but I've never seen a thread asking for double cut... I guess I get to keep my money this week..

They look cool I just can't do the dc finish.

Well, to be fair, Jerry did say that these have been sitting around collecting dust, so it's not like he cranked these out just to spite us!*






*(I want Satin, too!)
 
We'll, it seems to me that the flatter DC will go with the BIG better than satin would, if Jerry was looking to do something new this makes sense to me, plus I would assume it helps keep the cost (and manhours since the CS is closed) down...

Maybe Wednesday will bring satin again?

I would be willing to bet that since no other post other than the picture thread had said a thing about them being double cut, that wasn't the intent. I understand that it makes finishing it easier I just have always wanted the big finish and always despised the rustability double cut, I hope that now they are not one in the same.

Another point..... If you buy a busse that is double cut you can never get it satinned at the shop they won't do it.... So if you buy a cg busse with the intent to strip and send in for polish, then you strip it to find that it is double cut underneath then that blade and the plan to send it in go out the window and down the drain...

Double cut has ruined my day too many times.

Oh and for the record I never said Jerry did anything to spite anyone, please keep the comments on the level.



Big finish is not double cut.... I'm not too sure when they had a baby but I'm not a fan....
 
Not doubting what you were told, but I had asked about getting a satin finish done on a DC blade and was told they could do it?? I also agree that it's odd the BIG finish is blended with DC for this offering. My understanding is they are two different finishes...
 
Double cut is bead blasted and a light gray color. Big finish is like a rough satin finish with grind lines visible
