Big Folder that "Carries" small(er)?

Millie , or Benchmade 710 . I must admit i find the ZT301 carries quite nice , despite the weight . The Millie is my EDC ( backed up by a Strider PT , and a Victorinox spirit .

I really like the BM Skirmish for a full bobied knife that carries low key. The BM RUKUS is another I love to carry, but it is thicker and heavier but awesome. The Spyderco Police is a lot of knife also. The BM 800 series were also great longer blades with low profile carry. Great handle also.
Here are some shots of those next to an AR, which you know as a size comparison.

My Pocket Rocket carries like a much smaller knife. It is the knife in my avatar.

Here is something you can do. Get a Spyderco Millie and send it to STR for a low rider clip and FRAMELOCK conversion! It is AWESOME! Also how about a large SEBENZA? I also like the BM 710. If you dont like the pocket clip then just send it to STR for one of his low riders. You cant go wrong! GOOD LUCK! Kevin :thumbup::thumbup:

+1 for the Skirmish. So easy to carry I forget I am carrying it, either clipped to my front pocket or clipped to my waisband. It is the flatness of it that makes it disappear. I would equate it with carrying a full-size 1911 - large, but the flatness makes it portable in a way unlike much smaller, more rounded guns.

Interesting suggestions. Ti frame-locks are going to be light, but I found the B/M Skirmish's thumb-hole to be a litte small, & it's tip-down only.

The 710 carries VERY well for a knfe its size, as does the SOG arc-locks. I'd recommend the Night Vision, if you can find one (Discontinued, but G-10 scales) or the new Visionary II (Zytel scales, unfortunately, but VG-10). I also found the Emerson HD7 carrie pretty good, but it's a chisel grind.

Good luck on your choice.

I think a highly under rated knife is the Benchmade Presidio 520. Although it's hefty, it carries well. But really where it shines is during use. I love that handful of knife.:D

Millie; Skirmish; Rukus.

You cant go wrong with any of them.

For best comfort carry i would say the Millie. IMO The skirmish is quite heavy and drags the pocket down bit and the release stud of the axis lock digs into me a bit, when in the pocket.

But all 3 are great knives.

Yep, agree, but you forgot the ZT 0200:D

Just to throw in something different:

Benchmade/HK 14205. 3.5" blade of good utilitarian 154CM, AXIS lock strength, and the flat G-10 scales make for a very thin build. Carries extraordinarily well and totally unobtrusive.

Kind of a sleeper, but might fit the bill nicely for you. I highly recommend this one to anybody.

Oh, and the Benchmade HKs are refined to the nines; absolutely top notch fit and finish.

I would have swore I posted an answer here, but apparently not. I have one that I pocket carry on a regular basis. I generally rotate between 5 folders and this AR is one of the 5. As it comes I could/would not carry it. Reason being, too much handle sticks up out of the pocket. Every edc I have has a low rider type clip, either from the factory, from something I've rigged up, or in the case of my new Tyrade, from STR. On the AR I removed the original clip, made a second clip from an old foldover clip I had laying around. Drilled two holes, one in the top, one in the bottom, in a straight line, removed the back screw from the frame/handle, inlet around the hole a little, really just enough to get a flat surface being it has the rounded grips, placed the clip hole over the frame/handle hole, and used the original screw to tighten down the clip and it has been there ever since with no loosening and when the knife is in my pocket ALL you see is the short little clip, and only if you look hard as I've covered it with some black 3M Stair Step tape and it virtually dissapears against dark colored pants. Another thing I did to make it an easier carry was to widen out some of the grooves with a Dremel small sanding drum and then sand down the grips to about 2/3rd's their original thickness. I did add a pair of those TAD thumb studs that have the tritium insert, and they are really the cats meow!

So, my suggestion, get over to the for sale forum and get you another AR man!

Outside of that the suggestion of a Bladetech Rijbak is an excellent one!

Mili, but also the Manix and in particular the Chinook. The Manix and Chinook carry very high in the pocket, which leaves a good amount exposed (good if you want easy access, bad if you want concealment) which also increases comfort (especially when seated). The Chinook is a lot slimmer with the same hand-filling handle.

The Mili is just nice and light and slim. Very easy carry 4".
