As far as I can sense, the balance point is just in front of the handle. It has a good chop to it when you swing, but not too much. If you get what I mean

My Survivor arrived yesterday and the size of it is awesome, so I can only imagine what you're feeling with the Big-gun For such a big blade it is surprisingly light though. The Survivor balances "in-the-ring", but it is still slightly blade heavy according to my rudimentary test (insert finger in ring, see which side rotates downward), which is nice. I cannot wait to use mine. What type of tree are you planning to chop down?
