Big Heavy Bowies: Your Choice?

Some of us have a lot of fixed blades. That's not weird.

Having a bug-out bag - now that's weird.

LOL.

No bug-out-bag here either, and I would never leave anything of value in my truck.

But I sure like large fixed blades. :)
One of my favorites is the Becker Combat Utility. There's a Combat Bowie too, which I don't own yet.

I like the older BK9's, there are quite a few nice Ontario bowies that perform well for the price. So many choices...

Knives & bug-out-bags just go together like PB&J. Most have at least one but many have more than one. If i was woke at the wee hours of the night/morning & told i had to evacuate the area, for any number of reasons, it's just nice to be able to grab 1 bag & have a change of clothes, toiletries & some protection/tools of some sort, & be out the door in 5 min or less. Now back on topic, for HD Bowies, it is just REAL HARD to beat an OKC Marine Raider Bowie, for the price. Sheath is even comfortable to wear while working, sitting, bending & entering/exiting vehicles. All for about $55 & made in the USA, sheath---??? not so sure.

The point is like a needle---VERY sharp. I needed to sharpen the blade to get to my standards, but afterwards, I have feather sticked wood, chopped wood, & batoned it through some oak firewood, with no chips. I was beating the snot out of the tip area, nothing broke & when i was all done, it still would shave paper.
