Big! Is it better??

S&S, my new Zscherny "Millennium Trapper' weighs in at 5.5 oz!!!:D

Of course, they're all lightweights compared to my Hanson "Sunfish" which tops the scales at a whopping 9 1/8 oz!!!:eek::eek:
(Better not wear gym shorts with that guy. ;))

What size is that beast? My RR sunfish is a nice 6oz- that must be oversized.

I frequently carry around a 4inch...even when I'm wearing a suit. I've been carrying the 4inch Zulu I picked up from Mike at Blade for 2 weeks straight.

I prefer a knife with a closed length around 4". It just feels more comfortable in my hand.

Speaking of jumbo jacks, I just picked up this Ka-Bar 1190. I knew it was 4 1/4" closed when I ordered it but still was shocked when opening the box. This thing is huge! Over 3/4" wide across the stag slabs. The pen blade itself is 2 1/2" long. Feels (and looks ) like a roll of quarters in the front pocket.

I thought I like smaller/lighter & usually EDC something "around" the 3.5" range. But I've noticed I've been carrying little larger & heavier knives. My Montell Trapper is a shade over 3.75", but light (Thanks to its Ti bolsters & spacers), but my Case/Bose collab. Dogleg Jack's fairly heafty. It's listed at over 6 oz. & is a shade over 3 5/8 & not thin carrying, like the Montell Trapper. The main spear-point blade's also a full 2.75" of ATS-34 steel.

I also like my Case Seahorse Whittler at 4", but it is thin & fairly light for its size. Despite all that, while I really like the build of GEC's, I just find them to stout for my tastes, other than the Barlow.

However, I'm REALLY looking forward to the '09 BFC Barlow. Anyone know what that'll weigh? I believe it's an '03 Schatt & Morgan design made by Queen, right? Should be sweet & just right, lol.

As an aside, I must say, though, despite preferring slighter/shorter slippies, there is something about the full Trapper I have (4 1/8" with 3.25" blades). It just feels great in the hand & like it can handle just about anything.
