Big Knife

Hello Gentlemen, I’m the friend he posted this for. I had been only reading on here for a few days to see if I could come across anything that I felt suited my taste. I haven’t come to a decision on which I want yet, maybe I just over think things but I research the hell out of everything before I get it. Id really like a leather stacked handle but is it limiting my choices too much? Thanks for all the recommendations so far
The reason why I'd say a Swamp Rat is because many of their previous models featured Resprene-C handles. If you prefer leather for comfort, I'd pick Resprene-C over leather any day. Also, leather, once aged, will crack and flake; unless you oil it. Res-C requires a lot less maintenance than a leather-wrapped handle and is a lot more comfortable for "heavy use" (i.e. chopping down trees!)

Of course, the previous incarnation of the Swamp Rat line has been discontinued; and the new line of Swamp Rat knives should be available after Blade (next weekend!) Whether or not Res-C will be on the new line remains to be seen.

I just picked up one of the Ros Arms Taigas. Beautiful knife, and looks to be very well made. Haven't had the chance to use it yet but it has good balance and feels nice in the hand.

Ebay for 90 bucks.
