Hi fellas:
The day before yesterday I was standing along the tracks waiting for my commuter train when a Navy Captain asked me: "TK, have you made any new knives lately?" I told him that I just designed and built a big skinner for Moose, Elk, and Bear. Just then a big man (6'3" and about 250 lbs) standing next to me (who I don't know) instructed me that you only need a knife that's 3" long and a big knife like that is no good - it's "too heavy to carry up the mountain." My response was, "What are you? About 35 pounds overweight? Why do you care about 4 extra ounces?" He started blustering even more and I ended the discussion by saying that though I didn't agree with him that I respected his differing opinion.....like the good boy that I am. :) Hence, I named this knife the Big Man Skinner.

I put an upper edge on this big skinner for the guy that wants an auxiliary straight edge - I can sharpen it at your request. The deeply concave ground blade has a high 20 degree secondary bevel for wisking through connective tissue - this baby is scary sharp. The handle design really locks the hand in for the power strokes and you can choke up under the rounded ricasso for short strokes. There is a hint of a recurve in this blade to expose more belly in case you're wondering. $250 plus $15 shipping - Paypal preferred to my account tksteingass@frontier.com and I'll accept USPS money orders. The first "I'll take it" gets it. Maker's lifetime common sense warranty and free sharpening.

This next knife is a repost - I got so much crap from naming it Brown Thunder that I changed the name to Black Thunder Jr. since it's actually a scaled down version of Black Thunder......I also dropped the price dramatically. The scales are English Walnut with marblecake and crotch flame figure. I really like how it turned out ---- this is an elegant knife with a simple, elegant sheath. This knife has some heft to it with the spine just under a 1/4" at .205" and a very slight recurve. The 400 grit hand rubbed finish is easily maintained by the user so the knife can always be kept looking like brand new if you don't want it to get a patina. The soldered guard provides added protection to the user and the sheath carries the knife securely but draws easily. Superb fit and finish. $275 plus $15 shipping. Paypal preferred to my account at tksteinass@frontier.com and I accept USPS money orders. The first "I'll take it" gets is. Maker's lifetime common sense warranty and free sharpening.

TK, "Big Man Skinner" is one very impressive knife. Maybe you should carry it on tomorrow's commute and show the big man. He might come around enough to really want the knife. For me: big or small, I'll use them all.
I can't afford to buy any more knives but it's still nice to look when i see an inspired knife like the Big Man.
Beauty, thanks !

Thanks Roland - it's good to hear from you! I'd love to show it to him but I've been around long enough to know when my time is wasted......best to let a sleeping dog lie. ;)

Wow - Brown Thunder (how can you not like that name ;) is awesome.
Would $300 get it to Sydney, Australia via registered \ insured post?

Cheers

Hi Andy - Yes, it's a gorgeous knife - I'm surprised it hasn't moved at this price. Yes, I can ship to Australia.

To Australia, International Parcel Post is $17.88 and International Medium Flat Rate Box is $48 - insurance is extra. You can remit the $300 and I can reimburse you the extra or you can Paypal me as a gift for anything over $300 after insurance. I can only get the Parcel Post at the Post Office - it's not offered online.

Best regards,

TK

Big Man Skinner. Great looking knife. I'll take it at your asking price of $265 delivered, assuming you're good to go shipping to Canada. PayPal standing by. Let me know. :)

1911:

You're good to go - I've shipped many knives to my Canadian clients. Consider Big Man Skinner yours! Would you like me to sharpen the upper edge?

Sean: Paypal received - Thank you! This will go out in tomorrow's mail.

Best,

TK

I almost want to buy the Black Thunder Jr., even though I have a similar style knife on order already. I really can't believe it hasn't sold yet, especially with the current price - and the new name. :p
