Andy Prisco has been a moderator on our forum since it’s inception over a year ago. He has, likewise, been a dealer for Busse Combat knives and Busse Combat variants. Andy has a deep-seeded love for cutlery and bladeware of all types. His love of knifethrowing is legendary, and I can’t help but think of the custom Apache thrower that I made for him several years ago when he went on a wild boar hunt, armed only with throwing knives. This love of throwing sharpened steel has led Andy to pursue his dream of designing and manufacturing his own line of custom tomahawks. His new venture will be called The American Tomahawk Company. These tomahawks will be hand-forged in the traditional manner and should bring a high level of historical accuracy to these early American pieces. We at Busse Combat are confident that Andy’s commitment to quality and unparalleled customer service will not only bring him much success, but will likewise bring some exciting new models to the cutlery market.

In light of Andy’s new venture, he will be stepping aside as moderator of the Busse Combat forum in order to dedicate his time and energies to moderating his own forum right here on Bladeforums. We will be naming his replacement very soon. Our dear friend, Andy, will continue to be a dealer for Busse Combat and nothing else will change except for his absence as moderator on this forum. Andy will continue to deliver Busse Combat knives with that special “Prisco finesse”. Let’s all wish Andy the best of luck, and remember… he’s only a click away.

Andy, we wish you all the best, and in the words of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, “If you would hit the mark, you must aim a little above it: Every arrow that flies feels the attraction of earth.” Aim high, Andy… Aim high!

Yours in nuclear moderation,

Jerry Busse

Andy - best of luck to ya!

You've been an excellent moderator here and will surely be missed - especially in those heated threads where nothing short of a picture of 'Battle Mistress vs. Teddy Bear' will lighten things up a bit.

I look forward to seeing your new venture take off, and I'm sure it'll add some VERY exciting products to your existing line of offerings.

So, ever hunt boar with a tomahawk?

You'll be missed.

You Go Andy!
Best of luck to you in the new venture.
I'll be looking forward to the new forum and the new products.

11 or 12 years ago, I ordered my first Busse Combat Knife......it was the same Camp Special used in Jerry Younkins book, "Field Knife Evaluations".

After chopping through vines, logs, cable, and throwing it (for which the knife was not intended), I was hooked.

Over the years, Jerry and I became good friends, talked everyday, ran up our phone bills, and exchanged a lot of steel for money.

A year ago, Jerry gave me an opporuntity to live a dream, and saw something in me that no one ever saw.....a love of knives that could be translated into a position in the cutlery industry. I disagreed, but thought I would give it a shot anyway....somehow and mysteriously, I trusted him more than myself..probably hoping that what he saw was true. I loved knives, but thought I loved Archery and my job in the technology industry more. I was wrong!!!!

In the past year, I have had more fun, lived more passionately, and worked harder than I ever have in my life. And quite frankly, I owe the chance to have done it to Jerry and God!!!

Moderating this forum has been a gift...I will miss it, but will certainly be checking in and conducting Sharper Instinct no differently in terms of my customers and dealership of Busse Combat Knives.

Now, Jerry and the Busse Team have commissioned me with encouragement to venture on my own, as any great master emplores a student....to allow me to further my dream of Tomahawks and Tomahawk Throwing!!!

Jerry....my deepest thanks for your friendship, leadership, vision, and teaching.

For those of you who will want to know where I am, this is where I will be most of the time.

Andy, we'll miss you here, but catch you over on the other forum. Even though we only worked together on one transaction, I can't help but still be impressed with the level of service and integrity I saw.

I can still bug you about something I've been looking for, can't I?

The next moderator here will have some big shoes to fill, and approaching the forum with the gusto that Andy displayed can make for a seamless transition.

Wow! Definitely mixed emotions on this one. Sure hate to see you go as moderator of the Busse Forum, but couldn't be happier that you've taken on this new challenge in life. Geez, I've never owned a tomahawk before, guess maybe that's going to have to change.
God speed, my friend.

Hey there Andy

It's been great having you on this forum, claming everyone down and managing to keep everyone relatively sane through the waiting periods for more news on new knives.

It's hard to see you go... I just want to say thankyou for the pleasure you have provided me and so many others. Thanks for your dedication.

Farewell

James

Andy, we're all happy for you, but all sad to see you leave here. I'm sure we won't be able to stay away from your new forum.

We're really looking forward to seeing the tomahawks. You WILL keep on selling those great Busse knives, won't you? Now we'll just have to get tomahawks to wear on the other side of our belts -- a more balanced arrangement.

All the BEST.

Lane

Thanks for all the warm comments....and YES, I will still be "hawking" (no pun intended
