Big ol' 5160 camp knife, just for fun

Pretty damn fine work for a "between jobs" project. Throw some desert ironwood scales on their and you will have a ro k solid camp masterpiece. Heck, I would use it as my turkey carving knife in thanksgiving. I gotz to get myself a custom piece from you. I've been dying for a smaller 5160 steel compact Kamabit neck knife (probably miss spelled lol). Love the raw heat treatment contrasting with the highly polished convex edge. It's a functional piece of artwork.

Yikes man that is one heck of a blade sir, I like your idea of fun, could get in alot of trouble with you I bet, but in a good way of course :D

That's beyond awesome JW! Ya wanna be my neighbor or what?

I got some ironwood if you need some. I can see that wearing stag or a number of other nice materials too. Really, really nice.

Love it a bunch.

The more of your work I see, the more I like it. I'm glad I paid attention when I looked at your Facebook page.

Thanks y'all. It's nice when the stuff you make just for the joy of it is the stuff folks like.
Putting some brown micarta on it tomorrow, and see what it can really do.
(Cutting with it with the bare tang was kinda unpleasant)

Man thats my kind of fun! That looks great! That would be doing some kitchen duty from my kitchen stump! Very nice:thumbup:

And seeing your work makes me more anxious to get going on my own knifemaking. I don't expect to make anything so beautiful and well done as your work, but it looks fun and fulfilling.

Oh and I saw and really like your EDC Jambiya.

Man that old bakelite look is fantastic! If your ever in Texas an feel like goofing around with some steel give me a call bother! Thats a bigger knife than I first envisioned. Well done!

Your probably stuck in HI measuring system. His 11 1/2" is no doubt blade only. Big knife but gosh durned if I don't love it to pieces.

Be a head turner for sure, whip that bad boy out to whittle the turkey down to size. Heck yeah!

BAD A_ _, dang that looks even better than before. Looks like it would have blew right threw that tree. Very well done.

I notice in the first picture it had finger grooves. Now just the one in front but the rest are gone. ...

I also noticed the finger grooves in the tang, and was not liking them, but then I noticed it was an optical illusion from the shadows of JWs fingers overlapping the tang.
