Big ol' 5160 camp knife, just for fun

I notice in the first picture it had finger grooves. Now just the one in front but the rest are gone. Did you just cut it smooth and reduce the handle a bit or just cover them up with wood somehow. The handle doesn't look much smaller.

Just curious how you addressed that.
Steve is right- just shadow/overlap from my grip. I'm not a big fingergroove guy except for the trigger finger at the front of the hilt.

Awww mannnn, I was a victim of those optical dillusions again! I went back and sure enough Mr Tall was right AGAIN.

I seem to be getting dumber and dumber, probably make a movie about me some day......................

I like it, with or without dillusions.

Extremely good work bro! I love the curves going on in the spine. It gives it a more refined and "wicked" look to it. Good choice on the handle scales as well, micarta is hella strong yet reasonably priced and easy to work with. The raw heat treated metal on the sides is also uber cool, it has a color cased hardened look to it. You are a skilled craftsman JW.

More Gorgeous work JW. Have not seen a knife you have made that I did not like the lines of. Just like HI's, your design style also just speaks to me. And I agree with everyone that loves the contrast on the blade. Awesome.

Thanks! :) it is great to be back so I am able to distract myself with lots of pictures of sharp steel implements made by my favorite kamis and craftsmen as well as discussions on such a variety of topics.
