Big ol' homkin' bowie.

I looked at them, and I thought they were nearly perfect, except for being stainless.

Now, if I could just convince them to make that knife in D2 or M2........

Would you mind explaining this to me a bit? What are you gaining by going with D2 or M2 vs. stainless? D2 is known for its wear resistance and large carbides, and low toughness/impact resistance. (basically not any better than stainless.) M2 is also highly wear resistant at high hardness, and can take a finer edge, but is not known for toughness either. It sounds like you're still selecting steels that have all the same drawbacks as stainless, except they rust, too. :confused: Maybe they'd be better if you entered a 36 hour cardboard cutting marathon, but not the other stuff you'd mentioned.

Thanks to all for the suggesations. I've E-Mailed several of the folks recommended, and am waiting for price quotes/technical data.:D
