I am helping a friend, Sam Stoner that is Amish Knifemaker. He runs a full machine shop with two horses as his source of power. Seems I spend more time in his shop than I do in mine. Sam ask me to help him put one of his knives up to test the waters. We are still trying to figure out how we are going to do this. Lets start with this one. Because it is my favorite.

Blade is 8'' made from a Black Diamond Rasp, differentially hardened and forged to shape.
Overall is 13 1/2''
Guard is Brass.
Handle is hidden, Walnut Burl coke bottle shaped handle.

Price is $375.00 plus 12.00 shipping. Includes an Amish made sheath.

Nice knife, unique designs. I love the work ethic of the Amish, I can only imagine the amount of heart put into the making of this knife.

stunning work
A purist would say that this is an actual handmade knife. Man and horsepower, very cool.

I can't think of Amish without this movie quote
"We don't have a cow, we have a bull though!"
but I bet he has not seen it.

I cannot see why his stuff would not sell anywhere.

I usually dont comment on "for sale" post as not to bog things down. i just have to comment on this beautiful work
First of all like the above poster said. Truely handmade and that sheath is downright awsome plain and simple.
Being an avid user of rasps and files, Black Diamonds in particular I will add this plug..Haveing seen at least two different spectragraphs on Black Diamond file steel I can add that it is basically 1095 with added carbon. Around 1.22%..Awsome steel folks. Holds an edge like you wouldent believe. I buy up every black diamond I find at the flea markets..

Cool! Its interesting to me that the Amish cant use new technology, but its ok if a friend uses it to sell the products. Not just your friend, but you see Amish furniture for sale all over the net. I just would like to say that is a wonderful bowie and being made with horse pulled power could only help to make this a great investment if this maker gains notoriety in the future. Love it!

Does Mr. Stoner have his horses walking on a treadmill to run his shop? I have a relative up near Bardstown that did some hauling for him once, I believe, and he told me about the ingenuity of using a horse (at the time it was just one) on a treadmill to run the shop equipment. Most of the Amish I'm familiar with from around Sonora and Hodgenville use a gas or diesel engine to power their shops, but I understand the church district at Scottsville is a little stricter with the Ordnung.

The knife and sheath are beautiful! I love the look of knives forged from files and rasps, and that one is certainly nice!

This is far too nice a knife to still be sitting here, if you're willing to ship to Australia I'm more than happy to buy it..........

I can do Paypal direct from my bank account or EBT, electronic bank transfer and am happy to pay for frieght at cost for Australia. Both USPS and FEDEX work well for me.

Regards,

BRIAN

Brian, It is yours and Thank you. Email me at sales@blacktoeknives.com.

Watching the Amish plow their fields with a team of mules is awesome. You are doing a great favor man. God bless you.

Interesting. We have no Amish here, but, several Hutterite communities. They are far more progressive as far as machinery than the Amish, but, I have been thinking about asking them about any blacksmiths in the area. Wonderful people.

The knife has been received a couple of weeks back and I am NOT disappointed, wonderful knife and everything I expected!

Once I get my house renovation out of the way, about half way through, I'll be back for more.............;)

Regards,

BRIAN
