Moved to our webstore at burlsales.com. If you want to buy anything from our webstore you can have a 15% discount as a Blade Forums member. When you check out there is a discount coupon field, in that field enter BFD and it will automatically apply a 15% discount to your purchase.

This is a big slab of 2.25" thick maple burl you could use to cut your own handle blocks. This big slab has areas of red heart coloring and killer burl figure from edge to edge.

This piece was milled this last winter so it is not completely dry yet. If you can set this piece aside until next year you will be able to cut a bunch of really good looking handle blocks or scales. Some people like to use pieces like this to make handles with matching display boxes.

There will be some bark pockets, small checks and voids. This is common with most burl. Most of the waste has already been trimmed away. Photos show the piece misted with water so you can see what the colors and figure will be like.

Dimensions of this piece are 21" along one cut edge, 14" along the other and about 2.25" thick. It weighs about 10lbs.

Price for this slab is $130 plus shipping. Shipping will probably be about $15 in the US.

Just say I'll take it and send me a PM with your address so I can figure actual shipping cost.

This piece has very compact 3 dimensional figuring that will really stand out when you sand and finish this. This is some really, really nice burl that is worth stashing and saving for real important knives. You will be able to get a lot of knife handles out of this piece for just a fraction of the cost buying individual blocks.
