Who doesn't love a good stockman? (rhetorical question) I know I love 'em and so do most of you. So why not post pictures of your biggest stockman knives here? I'll start. I don't think there has been a bigger production stockman made than this version:

...but if there has post it in this thread. Also you can post any large stockman that you are especially proud of.

I concur about this is probably the largest stockman made. I have one with red stag scales as done by Herman Williams. It is very much a handful of a knife.

Rusty, that is gorgeous. Herman Williams is the best. Thanks for posting that masterpiece.

How big are the schrades?
Rough rider has a texas stockman that is 4 7/8 inches long closed.
I kind of want one, there only 20 bucks at smkw

Don't buy chinese knives! That's bad for your soul. Here's a pic to show the dimensions of the Schrade:

These are available on eBay and much more satisfying to own than a rough rider.

Thanks Stelth, and dont worry I have already made the choice to stay away from asian produced traditional knives (unless it is an asian pattern) a long time ago. But I do have... unfaithful thoughts... every once and a while. Sorry you had to see that everyone. :D lol
And to Arathol that bulldog is crazy big, I always thought a large case stockman was beastly but that thing is just massive.

The largest I have is a Queen Cattle King:

Same here. Queen #49 Cattle King, Camillus with slide lock for main blade and the large Case. I've picked up a #49 Queen in the Amber Carved Stag Bone since I snapped this.

The Big CASE in Amber Bone cv is the biggest I can handle, very good knife indeed. Bigger than this is Behemoth Land:D:eek:

I'm not at home in Texas, or I would post my BIG Schrade Old Timer 858OT...now THAT'S a BIG Stockman!

Ron

I say buy quality knives regardless of where the manufacturer lives. I love my Rough Rider large toothpick. Very good fit and finish. I'd be happy to have an RR stockman.

Camillus with slide lock for main blade

Yablanowitz, what's your opinion on the lock? Is it well done or kind of flimsy?(like noticable blade play when engaged) The Camillus 88 has been on my hit-list for a while, but they don't seem to pop up on eBay all that often. Would you recommend it?

It's still a slip-joint knife with a regular backspring to hold the blade open. The slide lock is just an additional safety. Blade play? If you are asking this question, skip this knife. The lock is certainly secure enough to prevent an accident from carelessness, but it doesn't weld the blade open to create a fixed blade.

I wasn't intending fixed-blade strength...just wondering if the lock is an upgrade from a standard slipjoint.

My Marbles (cattle knigs size) is the biggest and the biggest I will carry.....

My Case stag 47 is my favorite....
