For almost 20 years I have had to adapt to a right handed world and carrying a knife was no exception. I have become accustom to carrying a knife in my right pocket but always had to switch to my left for any percision work. I am lucky to be fairly ambidextrous but for whatever reason manipulating a knife with my left hand has always felt awkward. I just figured that this was the way it was always going to be and I would just have to live with it.

I picked up a ZT0300 a short while ago after reading all the great feed back and quickly understood why everyone loved this knife. I put it in my right pocket as normal in a tip up position as I felt it was easier to draw and open the knife like this. I had a slight problem opening the knife because my index finger always seemed to be positioned too far back to activate the flipper when drawn from my pocket. I decided the other day to switch the clip for left hand tip-up carry, thinking it would be like all other knives I have tried this way I put it in my pocket expecting the usual disappointment. When I reached for the knife something strange happened, everything felt perfect, the abilty to grip the knife properly, draw and open without feeling clumsy and the smoothness in witch I was able to do all of this. I have never felt this feeling with any other knife in my left pocket, it was like finding my holy grail of knives and it only took 20 years.

Thankyou kershaw for making this product, words cannot describe how happy I am or the feeling that has over come me knowing I will finally be able to carry a knife in my left pocket comfortably.

Kershaw is doing a good job accommodating lefties. The 0200 is a great knife. I'm not a fan on the thumb studs on right-handed linerlocks, though. The cutout on that side is not as deep. I have to use the flipper.

Do yourself a favor sometime and try something with the HawkLock. It seems to be optimized for us lefties. Closing the blade is very easy with index or middle finger and a flick of the wrist (or with the index on the spine and middle on the lock). My favorite is either the RAM or the ZT 0500 MUDD; the locks on those knives are in the perfect position. The ZT0650st is a little better right-handed for some reason (still very good either way).

I know it may not sound like much to most but it really was a great day for me. Being able to manipulate a knife in my left hand is something I thought I would never be able to do as I have tried so many ambi type knives in the past.
Firebert, I just checked out the hawklock on youtube and it seems very interesting looks like I might have to pick up a MUDD. :D

Glad to hear about your good experiences with the knife! Lately it seems as though Kershaw has been on fire. Hit after hit.

Great story. Lefties have always been a little left out from various manufacturers.
Seems as though Kershaw is trying to remedy that as of late with
items using the Hawk Lock (as mentioned above).
Hopefully more 3-4 way clips are in the works to go along with the new designs.
