I'd like to give a big thanks to Patrick Brewster (patriqq), , who has been supplying us lowly knifemaker's with proper quenching oils. The story was going it seemed that it might be impossible to get any of the products from heatbath, and that we might be stuck having to use peanut/vegetable oil/motor oil/mystery goop with no choice, Patrick pulled some magic out of his hat and came through (and is continuing) for everyone. Thanks Pat ;) :D.

What do you guys think of it!?!?!?

:thumbup: Took care of me without a problem!!

Pleasure to deal with in person as well!:thumbup:

I got some Parks #50 and really like it. It makes a difference in the quality of the heat treat. Patrick was easy to work with and was right on schedule. Thanks Patrick!

I'm flattered to see a thread dedicated to me! Thanks guys.

It's my pleasure to pass the magic oil around.

My apologies once again to those from Round 5 who got slow service from USPS. I had to ship some pails via Parcel Post (as opposed to Priority or UPS) to meet the shipping prices I had quoted. Some pails took almost 2 weeks to arrive. (Hopefully they do better with yours, Eric).

I purposefully gave my business the vague and generic name "Cartesian Designs." I've noticed that if I call a company and say "Hi, this is Patrick from Flying Steel, I make throwing knives, could you please quote..." I get turned away. But if I say "this is Patrick from Cartesian Designs LLC," I get service. On two occasions, companies have flat-out refused to quote prices when I told them I made weapons/knives. On one of those occasions, I simply called back 2 weeks later and said "Cartesian Designs" instead of "flying steel" - and got a quote. I'm guessing that is why so many people here have had a hard time with Heatbath.
