So...I have my interview for my internship with Habitat for Humanity-El Salvador today at 1 p.m. CST. The job seems like it is guaranteed, but this will be the final word. I am a little nervous, but super excited.

Any prayers, thoughts, smoke, whatever would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Y'all!!

Well...the interview went well. I wish I had brushed up on my Spanish a little better as the interviewer did question me a bit in Spanish. Overall, it looks good. I will know something for sure by mid-February.

Smoke and prayers, my friend. No smokes for you. Try to take a nap before you know.

So...I talked with my program director at school on Monday. He said my proposal has been assembled and I am now awaiting a final decision. The good news about this is that the interviewer usually does not waste time with the proposal if she feels the candidate is not qualified. So...still waiting. Prayers, smoke, whatever still appreciated, y'all.

Well...the plans ended up falling through. :( I did not get the internship because of some staffing issue. Apparently, they are only legally allowed to have 5% of their staff be foreigners and, out of 100 people, 5 are non-native, so I would put them over that limit. Maybe in the future.

Americanphobia! Americanphobia! Litigate! Litigate!!!;)

Seriously... sorry to hear this... I know how much you were looking forward to it.

sounds like they BS'd you LOL.. thats their way of saying "um thanks for applying but um no thanks".. ask me how i know.

Is there any future opportunity for you to give it another go?

There is a shot that may be opening in another 6-8 months. I do not know if I want to wait that long to do my internship, so my director and I are going over other options on Monday. In the back of my mind, I keep hoping this is just some horribly unfunny April Fool's joke. The explanation given seems a little weird, so we will see.
