Big-Time Interview today

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.:)

There is a shot that may be opening in another 6-8 months. I do not know if I want to wait that long to do my internship, so my director and I are going over other options on Monday. In the back of my mind, I keep hoping this is just some horribly unfunny April Fool's joke. The explanation given seems a little weird, so we will see.

Thanks. I know of another opportunity in California, but the guy who runs the program is a former professor with whom I do not necessarily see eye to eye, so an internship with him could be difficult, but do-able if necessary. Another shot is in Kenya, but for two years, I am not sure if I want to do that quite yet. I may end up having to defer for a year and just re-join the workforce full time again. Time will tell.

Sorry to hear the original plan fell through. Best of luck to you for the future.

Something will come through eventually. It's a struggle to keep that mindset, though.

Look at it this way... If you STOP looking for something, I guarantee that you will never find it! (Positive attitude).

If you say you "can't" you won't... not because you couldn't, but because you didn't try hard enough - Me.

Keep pluggin' away at it!:thumbup::)

Well...the internship didn't come through at all. However, I interviewed for another position and, after a few weeks, I think I really like my job. I got a job as a counselor/case worker at a residential treatment facility for teenage boys with addiction and behavioral issues. So far, it has been great. It is physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausting, but I love it. Updates will come eventually.

I'm glad you found something rewarding :) There is so much unrewarding work out there :(

Yup...that is what I wanted to avoid

Good news, I'm glad for you!

Sometimes, what WE want, isn't what we, or HE needs (if you catch my meaning ;)). Sounds like you've found a place where you can do a great deal of good!:thumbup:

Well...been at the RTC since May and it is going well. We hit some really rough patches and I debated quitting, but the job is still pretty awesome. However, I finally got an opportunity for an internship, so I am leaving in January to move to West Texas. We shall see where this leads...

So far...I am out here in West Texas, San Angelo to be exact. I am the DCE at a Lutheran Church out here. Basically, I am here to help re-build a youth and young adult program that died about 12 years ago, so I have a huge workload ahead of me. Good thing I love a challenge, huh? :)

God BLESSES you!:)

I suspect that you're Both up to the challenge.:thumbup: ;)
