Spyderco has some big knives designed by Hossom that look that they would fill the bill and not break the bank. They're called the Forager and the Forester.

Another +1 for Fallkniven. The S1 and A1 would suit what you're after. I've got more expensive knives but the Fallkniven S1 is the one I keep coming back to.

Have you looked at Ranger Knife ? They have pretty good prices.

I just came across Ranger Knives a few days ago, they look nice. I might actually get the RD7 or RD9, but I'll probably wait until they go into production with Ontario knives. They should become more available after that. Thanks for the input.
