Here is one of the larger knives that I make. It is forged W2 steel, clay quenched with a nice bold hamon. The flats are left as forged, but the bevels are nicely polished to 2000 grit before etching.

The handle is stabilized spalted curly maple. The ferrule and guard are nickle silver with a micarta spacer. It is all held together with epoxy and a nickel silver pin which has been domed. This knife is large, and the handle is large also, it fills the hand fully.

The sheath is one of the more ornate ones I make. I spent almost as much time on this sheath as I spend on some of my smaller hunting knives.
It is made to fit in the frog (I think that is what you call it) and if needed, it can be removed from the frog and slipped through the left hand side of the belt. The Sam Brown stud will rest on top of the belt to stop the sheath from slipping through, and it allows for a left hand draw.

Dimensions
Blade - 8 1/2" tip to guard
OAL - 14 1/4"

Price - $450 shipped to US. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order.

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

1/4" at the guard, but it tapers toward the tip. I should have mentioned the distal taper in the description.

That's one helluva knife! Everything about it looks
awesome.. Somebody is going to be extremely happy.
Congrats Matt!

That's just phenomenal! That sheath is my favorite part, followed closely by the Maple. Your work never ceases to amaze me!

Beautiful knife Matt. If it had a left hand sheath it would be coming my way. If you're going to make another please let me know. I would only ask for a few very minor change other than the handle. Your sheaths are georgeous to say the least.

I agree great looking stuff, amazing knife and the sheath work turned out great. Thats quiet a bit of stamping.

Nice one Matt. If I remember correct Matt won Best Fixed Blade with this knife at the Ohio Classic Knife Show. Correct me if I am wrong. Matt had many nice knives at the show so I might be wrong :)

Man that's beautiful. I'm really glad I was smart enough to spend all my money from selling my fishing boat last night instead of this morning. Otherwise I'd have a knife instead of an eotech site for the rifle :D

I like big knifes, and like the balance of this one, it doesn't look oversized and the forge marks look fantastic. glad you didn't do it in San Mai, I'd have to call my buddy and cancel my eotech order ;)
