Big Walnut Bowie

You have a gift of being able to minimalize the components and keep it all super-clean. An 'Economy of Excellence' in your work.

Good post. You got away with clean photos. This time. :D One of the biggest mistakes a maker can do is to post hasty photos, in their exuberance. Patience....

I want to see this sheath. :)

At first glance the word "CLEAN" definitely comes to mind Ray.

It is an awesome knife, love the walnut and guard work.

Ray - really great knife - I have one of your bowies in bloodwood - one of my favorites as far as your knives are concerned - this one looks even better. I agree with everything everyone else has said, especially Jim Coopers statement "An Economy of Excellence". This is what draws me to your knives everytime I see one posted. Really really nice. I have to keep coming back to this post.

Thanks again you guys for all the kind words. Comments are really encouraging coming from people whose work I admire. It also feels great to read good stuff from customers who own some of my knives. I will sleep happily tonight:D

I just finished stitching the sheath. I'm still going to put a few coats of oil on it so it will darken up some. I also plan to make a wrap around retention strap to go on the stud. I'm not much of a sheathmaker so it's a simple sheath but it's clean. I also added some more pics I took today with better lighting.

I am going to sound like a parrot but; I love your ability to execute simple. Everything looks so clean not overdone, I love simple!

I got to see this one in person, and it is a beauty. The balance, perfect grinds, fit and finish, all speak to Ray's attention to detail. And the wood looks better in person, too.

WOW Ray. That is beautiful. Probably my favorite of your knives so far. You have come a long way.. Great Job
