Bigbox store Mora knockoff!

This is simply not true. Go ask the big companies what these clones do for their sales.
Yes clones to hurt sales of many many companies, but you think Mora is actually effected by these ?

They sell so many knives globally, to the meat packing industry, commercial fishing industry, to anyone who wants a blade for the outdoors, you name it they probably have a knife for it.
Nothing justifies this at all, I just doubt some cheaper lookikes selling to those who probably don't know what a Mora is anyways are really hurting their sales.

You are justifying cloning in your argument of "nothing justifies it". Stop using completely flawed logic. Ask mora how they feel about these clones.

I'm not justifying it at all.
Taking business from the original isn't the only thing that makes cloning wrong.
I don't think these particular knives are hurting Mora, but that doesn't mean they're not wrong.

They're still wrong for various reasons.

Still justifying it. You don't think it hurts the company. Plain flat out wrong. That is an often used argument made by clone supporters. Do some research into the issue. Ask some of these companies. Don't just make stuff up because you "think" it is true.

I don't think these particular knives are hurting Mora,

These knives are being sold on the big box store website, which also sells Morakniv.

So which do you think Joe average is going to buy? A $10 Mora, or this $2.87 thing that looks just like it. Still think it won't effect Mora sales?

I didn't make anything up I simply stated what i believe and or observed.
People may use " it doesn't hurt the company " to justify, but I'm not because I think it's wrong whether I believe these particular knives actually hurt the company or not.

In that case they might sell these a little more.
I'm going to go on their website and search , if both come up mear eachother in my search then I'll concede that maybe it does effect the sales of Mora knives a bit.

Stating what you believe when it isn't true is making stuff up. Knock it off. To say that fake mora sales don't cut into real mora sales is idiotic. Please stop spreading misinformation that hurts this community.

How do you know it's not true ?
How do you know that these particular knives do in fact hurt the sales of Mora ?

It's a logical assumption, but there's no guarantee it's true.

Almost an exact copy ! Wonder what Mora thinks about it

"Almost an exact copy" except for quality. Being a big fan of Mora knives, I purchased two of these knock offs to see how they compare against a Mora. The edge on the knock offs are horrid and nowhere near what Mora offers. The edge retention on the clone is very poor as well. IMO the big box store knock off is nothing but a piece of crap. Even at $3 it is still an overpriced piece of crap.

As for me I'll stick with Mora.

Mora's market is budget users. Do you think that the Chinese knockoffs are not intended for the same market segment...?
I simply saw it as a disposable boat type knife as the only time I saw them in stores the tag said " fishing / bait knife ",
If I see them in the camping section advertised as something else then sure I'd see them as competing with Mora.

This knockoff is a horrid piece of crap, plain to see. The blade isn't even in line with the handle ! Quickly thrown in an injection press and voilà : a (crappy) blade with a (crappy) plastic handle. Almost an exact copy ? For a blind man, perhaps. Talking of Mora in relation with that piece of garbage is insulting. Mora makes simple, affordable knives (with quality steel) which provide great use for a long time. They sell for dirt cheap. But no, that's not enough, some crook must copy them and sell these pieces of industrial waste for even less. Of course it hurts Mora ! The average Joe (sorry Joe don't take it personal) knows nothing about knives and will lunge for the lowest price. That's where the hurt occurs.

The burden of proof is on you. Prove that mora clones don't take away from mora sales. Go ahead. Prove it. Ask mora. See what they say.

"I simply saw" is not a good argument. Try not to see things so simply.

It doesnt matter if i think theyre hurting the sales of Mora , because either way I don't condone them.
I've only seen them sold in the fishing section which is where my opinion comes from, but I still don't think it's right.

Now you getting me confuzzled... In the fishing section a ripoff is OK but in the camping section it's a No, No ? Come on now, what do you think was the Moras original market ? Very affordable (almost disposable) fishing and hunting knives. Usable for some firewood processing, of course : you want to roast that fish, don't you ? The bushcrafting fad came way afterwards and guess what, the Moras even hold up to the battoning and splitting nonsense. For 10 $. It's a downright shame someone dares to make a shitty copy of these humble and worthy knives.

It does matter to this hobby and community if you can't see the obvious when it comes to clones. You've got over 9,000 posts. You need to know better by now.

Now go return those pieces of garbage to the big box store and tell them they suck!
Maybe even speak to a manager and tell them you would rather pay a bit more for a Mora.
