Cho no!
No cho!
No pic.

Edit:
Now it shows up.
I think I'd hurt myself if I tried handlingg that.

The tiger stripes look cool though.

And Donut - if you shop at Food-4-Less your Cheerios will spell out "uuuuuuuu."

That's got to be the silliest looking knife I've ever seen. Hope I'm not offending anybody here
It must be "art" it can't be anything useful...

Brian:confused:

Perhaps it can be used as a fish hook.....?

The thing looks like an awkward push dagger at best.

One of the things that attracted me to this odd little corner of the Internet galaxy, was my interest in the inherent design simplicity and beauty of the khukuri, as produced in a remote and so-far, fairly isolated corner of the world. By people steeped in their own traditions and history - quite different from mine.
The first time a novice sees one, he/she picks it up and says, "Oh yes, I get it." Despite all its arcane regional variations and subtle refinements, the basic underlying theme of khukism is simple, straight forward, and primal. What we call good design.
I receive all the snail-mail knife catalogues and see the silly-ass "fantasy" knives being made today, and think, "these are for kids. Who aren't old enough (at least mentally) to legally buy them."
The simple khukuri is the ultimate fantasy knife, proven for hundreds of years. Those silly "art" blades will be soon forgotten but the contribution of the kamis and Ghorkas will be rememberd for a very long time.
Thanks for putting up with this...
Brian

???????

Poor thing, besides looking usless and ugly, the cho has been "fixed" What an indignity.

Pity this object--an inanimate Frankenstein's monster.

Maybe it is a fishook--who would want to use the lanyard to attach this thing to their person?

That is a Strider "Tiger". Not designed to be a khuk wannabe. It was designed IIRC with something to do with a video game. Something like that. While nowhere as useful as a khuk, I like its total alien look. It would be fun to play with if it did not list for 750.00

That is designed for folks who get into knife fights everyday. I should know I keep one in my back pocket so when the mall ninjas attack me I can beat them because I have such a well designed knife that is almost fights the fight for me! A khuk will do anything this POS can do and 1000% more! I bet is cost something like $400-600 bucks too and it's "hand made"! Rip off!

I was a little off as Archangle said $750.00! Must be proud of it.

I tend to read all sorts of things, thus learning a little something about all sorts of thing. I even read the posts that lead up to mine. Had you used that same respect before your post you would have a little more of my respect. I rarely give people crap on the net as I feel it is a waste of my time.
I do not own a Strider Tiger, I do own some 20 os so real khuks. I posted what I had read about the original design reason behind the Tiger. Weather you like it or not means little to nothing to me, do me a favor and don't drag me into your disrespectful posting. I do prefer people keep their smartarse remarks directed to someone else. I am proud of the fact that I tend to show reaspect to all. Until they prove not to deserve it! Oh I forgot.

No worries! It just blows me away when the new and latest things hit the market. There is to many hyped up products out there. Knives like these have no real world value when compaired to a straight forward fighter. A well made straight forward fighter is a better weapon then this will ever be bar none! I'm sure we could bebate this but you will never convince me that a person with eqaul training under the mental pressure of a knife fight would be able to minipulate this knife as well as a traditional fighting knife. I have close to 20 years of martial arts in my life and don't clame to be a "knife fighting expert" but I know more then enough and I know several knife fighting instructors that if you put this knife on a table with a basic fighter they would not heasatate to pick the figher over this in a fight.
I do appoligize about the smart ass comments, I just intended to make people laugh! I am just sick of seeing so many BS type knives(and many other non knife related products) out there. "Keep it simple stupid" is a good thing to live by in life from clothing, cars, living quarters, to guns and knives.
I also have a very hard time justifing $750.00 for a knife like this. You have maybe $20 in steel $10 for heat treat(with a batch) and your blade coating say $2 and inch and $1.50 for a cord handle. Well under $50 in materials and don't tell me the "exotic" grinds add up to the rest. Supply and demand I would not buy eithor. Over pricing...???;) As all of the line is. I have several knife maker friends(which are teaching me the craft) and they deserve to charge enough for their craft to make a well living and we have talked about this before and many of these "semi custom" outfits just charge way to much. If you like this blade, great! It would not be mine 1st choice or even 100th and nethor would it be my partners/trainers 1st choice. Just please do not pay $750, if folks would stop paying crazy prices on all types products and services maybe these companies would come back to reality. Sorry for the spelling and such in a hurry have to got to work!

I just hope that this never becomes a standard test for knives, or knife collectors. I'll laugh at the knife because it is funny looking and impractical. But, I can respect the collectors who want them; and I can appreciate that there are people who have enjoyed the game (whatever it was) and want a knife like the one used in the game as a conversation piece. IIRC Stryder did a reasonably good job of reproducing the thing. It is expensive, but, there are guys paying many times as much for fighting bowies, tactical knives, and samurai swords, which are probably about as practical as this thing is. Besides, the price is always whatever the market will bear.

I do not yet own one of these, but I would be a hypocrite to criticize someone for buying one. If I were limiting myself to practical knives I would probably have owned a SAK, a stockman, a couple of Buck hunting knives, a machete, and a camp axe. (plus an HI khukuri or two ;) )

Now, how well do you think this knife would do against bears? :D

That knife was designed for a video game, AFAIK it was called zombie killer originally.
Not being a knife fighting expert I am not not sure how useful it could be by itself, but comparing to kukri isn't fair IMHO.
Closest it comes to (according to fellow forumites) is Szabo UUK.
Anyway, it's a wicked looking blade, definitely not a utility thing, quite exotic :) Hence the price.
As long as you like it and can afford it that's all the justification you need.
It was never designed to be kukri, or bear fightin blade. It's just it's own kind of piece and looks quite original IMHO. I do not own it, but on the other hand I do own a lot more knives than I'll ever use...

I saw a copy of the knife pic posted (I'm sure it's inferior quality) in the Bud K catalog. I don't know why I get this catalog; I never requested it, however it's fun to look at. IMHO...different strokes for different folks...makes the world go 'round.

As was stated before by someone else, "to each his own". That is sort of my philosphy on life in general. It is wierd looking, but I like wierd, just for wierds sake. HeHe If I were a richer man I would have examples of all sorts of wierd and strange knives. As a poorer, working man I tend to buy the knives that I can find an honest practical use for. I however dream of the walls of my den being covered in examples of all sorts of strangly beautiful cultery, and some not so beautiful but just strange!:D  That is part of the fun of collecting something for me. To actually have things that are interesting and unique, different than most might find in mainstream life. It would be a boreing life if we all collected Buck 110's and that was all there was to see. Part of our recent cutlery expansion is diverging off into different extreams. Extreams are fun. Not always practical, but interesting and fun none the less!;) As far as the mention of fighting knives goes, well the closest I guess I have to a fighting knife is an Ontario Hells Bell Bagwell Bowie. I am not really a big knife fighter. I will buy cutlery for all sorts of reasons, SD is a secondary reason in some of my buying, but the only blood my knives draw is mine:o With my back the way it is I would more likely use my 45 to defend myself. I have had far more formal training with one also. My knives tend to be users mainly. Heck, I am selling my only safe queen now to pay medical bils.:( For me knives are a fun tool and some are just plain weird and cool looking with no real need or use, but cool just the same.:)

I can appreciate the imagination it took to come up with a fancy design. Wish I had that ability. Think that's one of the reasons that I like to watch "American Chopper." I stopped riding bikes a long time ago, but to watch the creative process manifest itself into a work of ago (that's also functional) is a kick for me. And yes, I must confess, I have collected eccletic items such as the above knife. Of course, each one was within my price range. I don't really use most of the items I have. It's just fun to look at them once in a while, pick one up and think, "what the heck was this thing used for?" Figuring that out is also fun.
