Biggest fixed blade you belt carry?

What is the biggest knive you belt carry? I have been looking at some large knives but am unsure if I will actually carry them due to weight and size. The largest knives I carry is often is my ratmandu for any outside work around the house or hikes. Any one belt carry a knife bigger on a regular basis? If so what, when, and how often?

I carry a BK9 RH and either a Kabar 1217/BK7/BK4/miscellaneous machetes LH when working around the farm. The LH knife depends on the tasks at hand and may change during the day, but the BK9 is my go-to/do everything big knife. It's an almost daily thing with me, as I have some pasture/fence line/barn work every morning while it is "relatively cooler" and then shift to "legal" knives (less than 5.5"/single edge) for all "off-the-farm" work, meetings etc.

What I have found is that the more frequently that I carry the bigger blades and for longer periods, the less noticeable they are as you go about doing whatever you need to do. Only when carrying some machete do I notice consciously that I still have them on when coming back inside, probably due to the extra length.

Not since the arrest, now its just secateurs/hand pruners for anti pitbull defence. (go for the eyes.)
"They're for cutting blackberry branches when I'm rabbitting with my Jack Russell, Officer."
If I was rich I'd get a garden trowel made to the same quality as a hunting knife.

Kabar Becker BK9 9" and BK5 8" are the largest I've belt carried.

But I prefer my 5.5" BK10 and BK15 for belt carry.

Depends on what I am doing. Sometimes, I carry my BK9 (9"), Buck Intrepid cl (7") and JK Titanium friction in one sheath.

When I am feeling a bit more traditional. 9.5" blade, almost two pounds.

And when I want something in between. 9.5" blade, 25oz

One of these... depending where I'm going.

I carry my 'biggest' 'uns in the wild.

Either my 8.5" leuku or, sometimes, I transfer my bolo from a pack-carried overhead draw to a tough canvas belt sheath, depending upon the terrain.

btw...I much prefer leather or canvas sheaths at this length to some kydex stiffy.

EDIT: Thought I better come back and add---for URBAN carry it's usually nothing larger than a 4" blade.

5.5" blade is probably the longest I'll happily belt carry. Beyond that I have to start figuring out creative solutions so as not to irritate my pleasingly plump physique. ;) Larger blades, hatchets and axes I prefer either a baldric setup or to strap them to a pack.

None, unfortunately. It's frowned on to carry fixed-blades around my neck of the woods. But if I were able to, about the largest knife I'd be willing to strap on is my RatManDu.

TGLB is the biggest I've done. I wouldn't want to do that consistently though. Biggest I have done regularly is a Bravo 2 in a custom kydex sheath. It works out nicely.

We have a lot of undergrowth around here and some of the areas where I hike have areas where brambles and that sort of stuff poke out into the trail. I carry a 14" or 16" machete to trim them back and leave the place a little nicer for the next person, so that would be the largest that I carry.

This is my regular carry. It's my "work knife" (construction), and my "away from work" knife. I carry it mostly in parts of urban San Diego. For work I use a kydex sheath for ease of cleaning, away from work it's the leather sheath. Overall length of the knife is 10".

I've been carrying this knife for several years without issue. Say what you may about California, but under state law we have the right to carry any size or type of fixed-blade as long as it's not concealed. :)

Who cares if it is frowned on man. What you need to ask yourself is is it illegal? If the answer is no, then don't let others preferences govern your own.

I usually like to keep it under 6 inches myself with my favorite hiking/camping/hunting knife size being in the 4-5" range and favorite EDC in the 2.5-3.5" range.

Big knives are fun.

My BK9 is a blast to own. My BK9 gets left behind most trips. My Mora Bushcraft is a great knife. Too heavy for neck carry. It gets left behind a lot.

The lowly Mora 1 is very plain and boring. Its cuts well. It carries effortlessly around my neck. It goes everywhere with me.

Depends on what I'm doing of course, but I carry my L.T. Wright Comp Chopper (10"), Corum Knives French Trade (9") or my (new to me) Swamp Rat Ratweiler (7.5") regularly outdoors. My Mora Companion HD is usually along for the ride.

Old school EK model 5 Combat Bowie with homemade oak scales. It rides in a drop leg rig on my right side.
