Biggest knife regret?

CRKT PECK. Why on earth I bought this one I have no idea.

Open frame designs are definitely not for me!

Whenever I buy a knife and realize that it's not for me I just give it away to friend or family member that I think it will suit.

I do have one regret though. It's the Wally Hayes Typhoon proto that I bought. Not only did I not like it, but I lost it too. I was actually going to sell that one instead of just giving it away.

Biggest regret is NOT buying a fabulous knife.

I had the chance to buy a Fred Perrin damascus and mother of pearl La Griffe off of the Courty-E-Fils website for about $250.

Beautiful, thick mother of pearl, fabulous La Griffe blade shape, and a nice thick leather sheath.

I couldn't bring myself to sell some of my "valuable" Spyderco tactical knives (Starmate, Military, etc.), so I let it pass.

Idiot - I still regret it to this day.

Mine was that I gave a 98 SpecWar A hand ground by Emerson to a friend of the forums. BUT! As much as I miss the knife, I know that it's being used by a hell of a guy and was worth giving it away.

After ordering a few cheaper balisongs to see if they would get through customs I ordered a Benchmade-43. It got pinched! I appealed and lost. Now some customs guy is probably opening boxes with my knife :grumpy:

I had an old Ka-bar 2 blade trapper in carbon steel. Lost it. Forgot about it. Found it ten years later while cleaning out a bunch of stuff from my Mom's house, rusted beyond use. Sadly, I tossed it.

I sold a large Jerry Fisk Camp knife a while back. That, in of itself, is a regret. The fact that I cannot get another one(at least not easily or inexpensively) compounds the frustration.

Holy cow!!! I did the same thing with the Fisk camp knife!!! :( Ohwell!

The one regret I have is not buying a Benchmade 941D2CF for $125.00 and when I realized what I had done and I went back to the store to buy it, it was gone. What a beautiful knife

All the great knives I abused as a kid. I never lost any but I ruined some classics that I got from my grandfather and great grandfather :(

My biggest kife regret of recent history is spending six hours at the Oregon Knife Show and still running out of time to see everything!
I can never get those last 100 tables back.....
It was a great show and the only way I could have seen everything was to have not talked to folks.
That is a part of the experience I am not willing to pass up.
Next year Im going to go for two days to make sure I get to see everything.

My biggest knife regrets are the one's I didn't buy. A couple of years ago I was going to get a Simonich and a Rinaldi (I couldn't decide which, so I went for both). After being told it would be a about a year, I decided against it.....DUMBASS :grumpy: :( . If I only knew then what I know know.

I traded off an old (pre-Torx screws) BM AFCK that was SOLID with no play and no blade centering problems. This was probably 4 years ago. I actually contacted the guy about getting it back but he said he gave (gave!!!) it to a fire fighter or EMT friend. At least it went to a good cause...

I also traded like mad for a Sebenza but had to sell it off to help pay some taxes.

Let's see, I also did a little destructive testing on a Gin-2 bladed Delica. I still don't know what I was thinking...

When I was VERY young I snapped the blade off of an old Barlow slipjoint that was my late uncle's (I was 6 or 7 at the time). It wasn't anything fancy but I sure would like to have it now.

Finally, these aren't knife regrets but I sold off a sweet little Beretta .380 w/ two hi-cap mags that I should've kept and I passed on a Sig P229 w/ two hi-caps that I should've bought.

Biggest regret is buying so many produciton knives instead of saving my money for something real nice like a busse, or a custom knife.

Weak willpower. If only I bought a knife a month instead of 2 a month.

Passed up a very nice JPH Swiss Bastard on ebay for 700 bucks. Still kicking myself... I know you said knife regrets but it sort of a big knife... :)

About ten years ago when my wife and I got together (yes, I know what
your thinking and yes it was her fault)and just getting started, wanted to eliminate some debt, so I sold my Randal collection, which
in part included a mod. 1, 14, survival, tooth pick, big bear bowie and an Apollo. There was also a pre-56 winchester, and origianl .348
winchester and a raare bolt action. I have almost managed to forget
how little I got for these now irreplaceable items. But am I bitter?
HELL YES.
