Well a couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to pick up this bowie from Bill. After having my good friend Paul Long dress it up as well, this time a first for me beaver tail overlay. Buddy has done his typical magic. I hope you enjoy this one, I know I sure am.

As described by Bill:

This is the first knife made from my shop after receiving my mastersmith ranking in 2010.
The first to be marked with "MS".
Steels used in the damascus - 1080 & 15n20
Damascus was a 155 layers ,then manipulated
into a W pattern, Laddered & forged to shape
Hardware - one of a kind mosaic X pattern
Handle - fossilized walrus Ivory
Overall length - 15"
Blade length- 9 7/8"

Thanks for looking, Jon

Wow. Fantastic knife and fantastic sheath.

Kind regards,

Jos

I really like that. I like its form, its textures, its patterns, its colors - pretty much everything about it. It wears the MS stamp well.

Thats very nice! It has a bit of DH3 going on with it, which is a good thing of course. :)

Thanks Jon, I'm having a bunch of computer problems lately and couldn't get the link to open.
WOW, Paul you did another fantastic job. I sent this knife to Paul to make a sheath and after he received it, he sent a picture of it to Jon, Jon called to ask if it was sold and when I told him no,he said he'd like to purchase it.Jon and Paul got together about what Jon wanted for the sheath. It just goes to prove, high quality photos help sell knives and high quality sheath makers sell them. Thank you Paul. ;)

Thank you all for the nice comments.

Bill

That knife is a beauty as well as the sheath. Congrats to the makers as well as the buyer of that fine set.

Way to go Bill! You really did your MS stamp proud with this one. Congratulations Jon!

Stunning sheath Paul. Happy to see the knife that sheath went with and it couldn't be a better match.

Man, what a super package! Love that bowie. And, Paul outdid himself with the sheath.

Great bowie, Bill. Superb sheath, Paul. Excellant image, Buddy. Congratulations, Jon. Awesome things happen when special talents intertwine.

Thumbs up!

- Joe
