Looked at one of these ,nice knife.I was not too sure about the multi carry sheath.I was told that they had them with a leather sheath .When was that?also was it the same steel . It was priced way low .What would it cost to get a nice leather pouch sheath for it? Thanks

The early Morans were sold with a leather sheath, but I do not know the date. Never tried to get hold of one, nor have I ever seen any for sale. It would probably be easiest to get the current Moran and make or get a leather sheath for it.

Hey Strike, I have a Moran (swept point) with a leather sheath. Great knife; light, good handle, crazy sharp and easy to sharpen. If you snag a swept point Moran with the Kydex sheath, I'd be more than willing to swap sheaths with you.

I have one of the leather sheath models and three of the kydex sheath version (2 upswept and 1 Drop Point). The leather sheath version was a higher polish and the Moran signature on the blade was gold colored. So there is no question, I am not looking to unload any!!! :) Great knives!

Cheers.

I have the FB01 Moran with the mirror polish & upswet blade mine came with the leather sheath I like it alot.

I actually have 2 of each of them one complete set with the box & a catalog that came with it & another knife & leather sheath unused but no box or catalog.

I bought the second knife & sheath to use awhile ago I just have not been able to bring myself to do it yet :)

Bill Moran was one of the best knife makers in the buisness & these Spyderco Moran knives are awesome the blade steel is VG-10 by the way.
