Here's something that has been on my mind for years because of this thread :

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-JAG-Custom-Buck-110!?highlight=Winner+chosen

It's finally starting to come together, thanks to a little push from someone.

These bolster halves started as a .285" billet of 6AL-4V Titanium. They are hand milled, not CNC. I am contemplating using 5-40 threads with Helicoil inserts for extra strength, but possibly Stainless Barrel nuts (That I commonly use)

Here's a few Titanium Buck Knives I have on the go:

Thanks for looking!

Great Idea and would love to get one.

For those of you reading this thread and do not already know Jerad from Jag Custom Knives. Jerad is an extremely skilled craftsman coming up in the knife industry and has done alot of work on customizing Buck Knives. I just this week received 2 customs from Jerad this last week and they are fantastic is all aspects. I now have 3 of his knives and plan on adding more of his customs in the near future. I will be posting a couple pictures on this weeks Sunday Picture Show later today so click on the link below to see them for yourselves.

For those of you who do not yet own one of Jerad's custom knives you need to get one and see for yourself his fantastic work.

Gedlicks-I second your post on JAG.Soon to have the billet titanium 110 build with a Eagle Scout theme that will show the true knifemaker skills of Jared. This will be my third custom titanium build from Jared. He is truly on the cutting edge of knife design and creative innovativness.

JAG custom knives builds incredible knives!I was super lucky to win the first one in a contest,I've been offered $400 for it lol,but it will never be for sale.I can hardly wait for the titanium 110 to be available, whooooohoooo!gonna be a great knife!

I've got two of Jerad's customs and ordered another 112. I agree, he's one of the most gifted makers on this forum. He's a true craftsman and artist.

Here is the finished product: Those are Titanium screws holding it together. I used a buffing technique to bring out some grain in the Carbon Fiber you can feel as I find it a little slippery when wet.

Holy crap!!!!!,whoever said dreams never come true didn't know what they were talking about lol.I love it!

Hi Jared, You can save a little time and effort by drilling and tapping the right hand scale with four #5X40 female threads and drilling clearance holes (.125") in the left hand scale. No Helicoil should be necessary in holes that deep. If you use socket head bolts, a #5X40 counterbore will help get the heads flush with the handle.
Where do you obtain #5X40TPI Titanium screws?

Jared,

Massive kudos.

I truly hope Buck is watching and taking notes.

Buck has some iconic designs, none more so than the 110. As beautiful as the classic 110 is, it needs to be reimagined and reinterpretted for today's market.

That is absolutely the most beautiful looking 110 I've ever seen. It's really a perfect blend of modern and traditional.

I would strongly encourage you repost this in the Traditional forum. It meets the guidelines (no thumbstuds and no clips) and other custom maker have posted similar modern interpretations of traditional designs.

More people should see this (and really, Buck should take a clue on how to leverage their icons better).

Well color me impressed! I know I shouldn't be given your body of work with Bucks in the past but I'm once again amazed with your innovation and talent. Well done Jerad!
