SOLD to 308 Sniper. Offering my recent catch-and-release Billy Watson Eastern Hunter, unused and uncarried, along with its maker's marked brown leather sheath. This one by Mr. Watson has a longer blade than his usual 4" Eastern Hunter, nearly 5" (approx. 4 7/8" as I measure) with 1095 ball bearing steel, tapered flat grind, full tang, an unusual integral finger guard, gorgeous hand-rubbed figured curly maple scales with silver-colored pins. I understand Mr. Watson is now retired and longer making knives. This beauty will ship to you by USPS Priority Mail Insured (CONUS only, please) for $83 paypal. Enjoy the photos posted below.

Thanks! I can't get to my (office) emails until tomorrow or Monday. If you want, you can PM me here at Bladeforums for faster response. Because of the federal holiday on Monday, I won't be able to ship until Tuesday.

Just for the record, IIRC, 1095 is a spring steel typically used in autos ( and the MKII Kabar). 'Ball Bearing steels' such as 52100 have higher chromium. Truck springs used 5160, it's tougher due to a modest addition of chromium.

Thanks to tlweldon for the steel information. I was just repeating what I found on an old website (1095) and from what Mr. Watson wrote me about using "ball bearing steel" for his knives (this was when ordering his Camp Knife back in 2002. Crazy Crow from whom I recently purchased the Billy Watson Curly Maple Hunter wasn't too clear about what steel used. Sorry for the confusion.

To joebowen2002: Thanks for your payment! Knife and sheath are packed and will ship USPS Priority Mail Insured first thing when the PO opens.

Best Wishes to All
