This little hawkbill is my latest creation. I call it Billy . Last time I made a forward courved blade I promised I won't try another one until I get a grinder. As you can see I didn't keep my word.
Making this knife learned me a few lessons:
1.) A big bastard file can make really deep scratches if it's not clean. You spend more time getting rid of them than cleaning the file. :grumpy:
2.) Using your fingers as a support for the sandpaper will eat the grind line and produce fingertip blisters.
The knife is 4"4/5 long, it has a 2" edge. The damascus is made by Achim Wirtz and the handle is sheep horn.
