This little hawkbill is my latest creation. I call it Billy :). Last time I made a forward courved blade I promised I won't try another one until I get a grinder. As you can see I didn't keep my word.
Making this knife learned me a few lessons:

1.) A big bastard file can make really deep scratches if it's not clean. You spend more time getting rid of them than cleaning the file. :grumpy:
2.) Using your fingers as a support for the sandpaper will eat the grind line and produce fingertip blisters.

The knife is 4"4/5 long, it has a 2" edge. The damascus is made by Achim Wirtz and the handle is sheep horn.

Very nice Flavius my friend, do some more:D

Beautiful knife Flava!
The sheep horn handle adds just the right amount of color to set off the damascus.
Bet that little bugger fits in the hand perfect between the thumb and middle finger with the index finger along the spine.

Thank you all for the kind words! :) I am quite happy about choosing sheephorn for the handle. It is a warm material and easy to work. It breaks up nicely when you drill it and does not "splinter" under the file.
