That should be one heck of a slicer at 1/8th inch thick. Sweet looking hamon too. And you know it's gonna be a razor.:D

You can do a lot of work with a long blade like that. And just because you've got a long edge to work with doesn't mean you have to use it all.

For about 6 months I used a 12" blade cimitar for just about everything. I did it just to see what could and couldn't be done with that length and style of blade.
From cutting up N.Y strips to trimming the silver off of filet to slicing onions.
It handled everything (except dicing veggies) fairly well...not to say it was the BEST knife for each application, just that it could do it.

Put it through it's paces and let us know how it works for you.

it will be my main kitchen knife so i'll be back with a review...:)
