Hi everyone,
Today I have a puukko knife for sale featuring a birch bark handle and a polished, progressively tempered blade.
The blade is hand-forged from Bohler 510 tool steel, heat treated to HRC 58 (tested) and progressively tempered. It has a polished forge finish with a slight drop point. Dimensions are
3.8" x .750" x .159" at the ricasso.
The handle is 4.15" long, made from stacked and compressed birch bark with polished nickel silver fittings. The tang is peened over the pommel and ground flush. Birch bark has a unique feel, and great grip.
The sheath is hand made from veg tanned cowhide, with a water resistant finish.
Price was $350 now $295, shipping within the lower 48 and Canada. I will ship elsewhere, but the cost will be a little extra. Post "I'll take it" below to reserve it, and then PM me for shipping and payment arrangements.
