Photos Bird and Trout! Let's See 'Em!

I realize this an old post, but I'd love the looks of this knife, What is the overall length and spine thickness? Who is the maker?
This is a Mercury by Barry Dawson. I will take the measurements tomorrow and post here. The steel is a US made damascus and the scales are Arizona Ironwood.

And another with Ironwood:

A couple that I didn't make but were in the shop for a new sheath. They certainly fit this genre:

This one was so pointy had to start over. It happens now and then, wet molding can be tricky:

This one too:

The Slotted sheath is my version of an old cowboy type sheath. It goes under the belt and thus provides extra security if riding a broncy horse. It works 360 degrees on that belt so is truly ambidextrous:

very nice.

So the knife is 6.75" overall with a 3.25" blade, .25" of which is ricasso. The spine thickness is about 2.5mm tapering down to about 1.5mm (I have misplaced my micrometer so I am guessing on these final measurements).

And as I posted earlier, it is by Barry Dawson out of Prescott Valley AZ.

Hope this helps.

A Paisano in 26C3 high carbon steel with a working hamon. The handle is buckeye burl and the spacer is rosewood:

Another Paisano in AEB-L stainless this time. A blackwood spacer and a mesquite handle:

Me to.
Indoors it looks a bit like a whiskey brown color which is fairly nice, but it really comes alive in the sun.
Wonder if they got the scales mixed up during the making. Many colors on jigged bone before they are worked look a very dark almost black color. You've definitely got a very nice set of amber there. Amber, brown, some blues and greens, black can all look the same. I'll grind a small piece on the edge so I know who's who and make sure the right scales get with the right blade. They come in a small baggie with a sticker that tells ya the color. I've had that occasionally be wrong too. Not often but its happened a couple of times. Anyhoo ya got a great set on that knife.

I think it's just a poor translation or miscommunication on their part because this turns out to be how it appears in most stock photos.
They also offer what's described as " brown Richmond jigged bone " of the same color, and the supply companies like Jantz sell that material as " Richmond amber jigged bone ".

My guess is that the manufacturer probably calls this amber bone stag or something

Yeah was thinking of the translation issue. Probably right on that.
