Here is an excellent field knife for small game, birds, trout and many more chores. For this blade I chose Crucibles CPM S30V in 1/8" thickness. It is thin enough for great slicing but still still reasonable stout and S30V has a good reputation for its edge holding and corrosion resistance. The blade is 3.1 inches long hand sanded to 600 grit finish with a file worked spine and is 7.2 inches overall. The handle is burgundy burlap Micarta with olive drab spacer and fastened to the knifes full tang with loveless bolts and epoxy. An 8/9 ounce black leather horizontal pouch sheath carries the blade and is set up with an over the belt snap so you don't have to take the belt off to carry.
