Bird-dog

Mighty cute! Funny how different species can become pals... "The lion shall lay down with the lamb."

My woman's dog went missing last night (he's home safe now); her mean-eyed black cat looked for him all night and morning, crying mournfully. They usually cuddle up back-to-back and sleep together.

Speaking of ducks... the mallards are back in town! My daughter begged me to take her and her half-sister for a walk down by the river yesterday afternoon cuz it was almost 50 degrees out... how could I say no? We saw lots of mommy and daddy ducks paired up, swimming between the ice floes... good times :) We heard and saw lots of Canada geese coming north too, but I didn't get any good pics of them :(

We stopped by a picnic table on the island so the girls could have a snack... apple-sauce and peanut butter. Good survival food! :) I had a little treat of my own :D No, I wasn't driving, we walked there and back. It's great to live in town, yet be so close to the river

Your girls are doing shots of Beam????  I heard y'all drank a lot up there but sheesh

Hey, what's all that white stuff on the water with the ducks. We had some similar white stuff on our lawn for a day the other week, then it was back up to 70 degrees.

Nope, I'm greedy and kept all the Beam to myself :D I made the girls drink water. They offered to share their PB and applesauce with me, but I declined... don't wanna get fat, y'know ;)

That white stuff is called "snow" and "ice". Go peek in your freezer, you'll see what our whole world looks like about 8 months out of the year ("global warming" my skinny white ass!) Incidentally, those pics are the Wisconsin River, the "Hardest-Working River in America". A mile or two south, where the river is wide and the current is slow, there's still trucks and ice-shanties on the ice and folks ice-fishing. They pull some nice walleyes and perch, sometimes pike, out of those waters. Good eatin', now that the EPA etc. stopped the paper mills from dumping mercury and other horrible poisons in the water. Sometimes gov't intervention is a good thing.

Spring-time means a lot more when you've been snowed in and froze near-solid for months on end :). Last night, I actually slept nekkid for the first time in months. The various birds and small game critters around here are runnin' around like coeds on spring-break. Migratory ducks and geese are literally flocking back to God's country; it's beautiful to see. Honk honk! Quack quack! :) It barely cracks 50F in the afternoon, but folks from 6 to 60 are wearin' shorts and soakin' up the sun :) :D We grow 'em tough up here ;).

Ohhh 50f, that's pretty cold. I got 2 blankets on my bed cause it's 50f at night..... :( COLD sheesh... it's freaking 50!!!! seriously, I have 2 blankets on my bed and the A/C off because it's in the 50s at night. We have had the fireplace going and made cocoa and did marshmallows on the fire cause it was cold.

Why does your river have that "ice" stuff in it? I don't think I've seen the Alabama with that "ice" in it. I guess our river is tougher than yours. :p

Ya know, I could have lived my whole life not knowing that you've taken to sleeping nekkid.... really, my whole life :barf: Ummmm those critters aren't in the room with you when you're nekkid are they?

50F is campin' weather, ya pussy! ;) We make our kids go outside for recess unless it get below zero. Sheesh! Y'all southerners are wimps.

Don't get me started on heat, neither... in July and August we get our share of 90F + and 90% + humidity. We just jump in the lake/river and/or drink more beer to cool off.

Ummmm those critters aren't in the room with you when you're nekkid are they?

Don't be judgmental, brother! Cats and dogs snugglin' up help keep a body warm, don'tcha know. Where you think the band "Three Dog Night" got their name? :D

If it wasn't for the ice and snow up here, your lil' river would dry up and whither away :) You're welcome!

Umm I got a wife for body heat! :D

Errrrrrrr I've spent more than a few days in several feet of snow.... I don't particularly like it. Winters in Bosnia and Kosovo sucks ass. Think we had over 84" of snow in December when I was in Kosovo.

90f and 95% humidity is football practice weather :p

Winter in Eastern Europe sounds about like winter up here... except I don't have to worry about snipers and mortar/rocket fire  Thank you for your service, sir! I never served in the military (too damn lazy/undisciplined, honestly), but I'm sure grateful to those that have. I salute you and your brethren that served.

Yup, same up here... that's why I spent my high-school summers at the local pool chasin' gurls and sneakin' beers :D
