I do HT at home in Evenheat, followed by dry ice when it is required/recommended. I don't work on complicated steels that require over 2000F for austenitizing, even though I really-really like them, and when I do - I send those to Peter. I rarely make more than 2 blades in a month, and sending them out doesn't work for me - to be profitable, it should be much more in a batch. I don't ask much for my knives, and doing HT at home helps to keep the price down. I believe for a limited set of steels I work with, I know enough to have that HT done properly.
