For Sale – Snowflake ‘Mascus Bird & Trout with Alligator Sheath (SM4) by Wayne Jarrett

OAL: 6 1/4"
Blade: Hollow Ground 2 5/8" X 3/4" X 3/32"; 1095 High Carbon Alloy; differentially heat treated with edge quench. So there is no confusion, this is not Damascus. It has an acid etched finish that I call 'Mascus which resembles Damascus.
Bolsters/Hardware: Desert Ironwood and nickel silver pins and thong tube
Handle: Sambar Stag.
Sheath: 6-7oz premium tooling leather with actual vintage “Alligator Tail” Overlay with upright scales extended (see pictures). Mink oiled for protection in the field. What a great pair and the sheath alone will Wow your friends. This is vintage, pre-regulation skin and yet it is still soft and supple. It is VERY hard to come by. A great Fathers Day gift for the outdoorsman that 'thinks' he has everything!

Price: This is a steal at $140 plus $8 shipping to CONUS. I'm just reducing some of my inventory normally sold through local fly fishing shops and getting ready for the new season.

Paypal: wayneandrainy@aol.com or personal check (inquire for details)

This one is razor sharp and fits nicely in the palm of the hand. It's perfect for cleaning fish or delicate birds even with gloves on.

I have a fly fishing shop in Vail asking for Bird and Trout knives so one more shot on BF before it goes up the mountain. :) Last bump.

Once again, I appreciate the comment. I really thought the 'gator would go quickly. Guess it's destined to go to one of my dealers.

A really nice little knife, just got it today. It IS razor sharp as mentioned, and the sheath is unique, a very nice way to use an alligator tail leather. I like the treatment of the blade the " 'Mascus ". It looks beautiful, and I think can guess how to do the process or an approximation of it. I'll try it someday if I ever make a knife. :)

Thanks Wayne!

This knife is so nice that I forgot to mention the outstanding sheath. The alligator overlay is just incredible, and the overall construction of the sheath is outstanding also.
