Birthday GAW *WINNER ANNOUNCED post 31*

Happy Birthday! Thanks for the opportunity to enter.

Favorite aspect about being the age I am(36)? I don't really think of age that way. I am what I am. Maybe I can eat dessert for dinner if I want.

At 29 my life has finally started to get a bit of direction. I have a girl who foolishly agreed to marry me and I have a career not a job for the first time ever which forced me to move to a remote Scottish Island. Terrifying as it was at first, it's the second best thing to ever happen to me (the first I have already mentioned).

Thank you and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Man, I'd like to have a career on a remote temperate island. I would have been a good lighthouse keeper. Except for the rowing out to save people at great personal risk- I wouldn't have been good at that.

So no complaints at 50-something. I like having no prescriptions(KNOCK ON WOOD), since I have Monty Python insurance. (Sorry Vicar, but your policy clearly states that no claim made by you will be paid.) And it's relaxing, once you get it through your thick head that the women aren't checking you out anymore, to realize that there's no reason to try to suck in your gut.
NOT AN ENTRY, though thanks for the chance. I probably have enough pre-Taylor Schrades that I shouldn't get in other people's way.

It's awesome. Me and some fellas from the village were out cutting peats (by hand) for next winters fires this afternoon. Here it's 0005 hours and there's enough daylight outside to read by.

Happy Birthday Blaine-I consider 40 to be the new 18.
Not an entry as I have run out room in my boxes for knives and have not yet purchased a new one.
Some of the knives live in cramped conditions with little or no sunlight...hang on a sec that sounds like an animal rights ad...(cue Angelina)-they are made to dance and many are not properly sharpened. please help them.
JackBlack-lovely photo of you and the wee one-but Mate-its screaming for one of those "I'm with stupid" rompersuits. The expression on her face is priceless.
cheers.

Jack - we finally get a face with the name! That little munchkin is such a cutie!

And Andi - your little part of Germany looks beautiful!

I have about a week until I turn old, so let's keep hearing some wisdom, everyone. :)

Happy birthday to you both!

Well, I used to think I did not want to live past 50. I hit 51 back in January, and it's not so bad. Best part? Two actually. First, my wife and I have been together now for over half our lives, and it just keeps getting better. Second, our son will be 21 in the fall, and he continually impresses me with the way he is pursuing his life. He is so much wiser than I was at that age (in some ways wiser than I am now!), and it is a delight to watch him blossom into a man who is respected by everyone who meets him.

i would like in please. life is like fine liquor. it gets better with age. optimism:thumbup:

Can't say much.
I don't have very many years logged in my life yet.
I guess the good part is that I am still in the early stages.
This is a great GAW, in on the Minuteman please.

This makes me want to do a gaw on my 15th birthday....

Happy Birthday Blaine, it's a great age, I started practicing martial arts in that age, now I'm 50 yo. So I guess you can do and start anything in any age.
I wish you what I wish my closest, good health.

Mike

Congratulations, silenthunterstudios! Shoot me an email with your addy.

Thanks for the insights, everyone. Forty has started out fine so far, so we'll see where it goes from here!

Happy 40th Blaine! 40 weren't so bad, now 50 hit like a mule kick:D thanks for all that you bring here:thumbup:

Congrats silenthunter !

You are just a puppy. As you get older you get smarter and better looking. What could be better. Besides that I like not have to work as hard as I once did and O those grandkids. You can give them tea and chocolate and then drop them off with their mom and dad. I think they call it pay back, haha.

Blaine,
happy birthday :) I can't say anything about turning 40 myself, I've been stuck at 20 for quite a few years now :D
Thank you for the giveaway :) congrats to SHS for winning this one ;)
