Thank you for the awesome info and suggestions. That Three Sisters Forge Beast is truly fantastic, and that's something I will consider for myself at some point.

When I say he likes 3"+ knives, I didn't choose my wording well. I mean that 3" is the minimum. He prefers larger knives. His current go-to is his Spyderco Southard. He also mixes in the Spyderco Fluted Ti Military I got him back when the first run was done how ever long ago that was. He truly loves his Spyderco Sage 2, but it's just not as big as he likes his knives. That said, I think a Lg Seb would be perfect for him.
 
I decided on the WC Lg Starbenza. He's always said that he enjoys the fluting on the Ti Millie, so I figure this at least is a step in that direction over the plain Jane.

Now I just have to fight the urge to get myself the Small Micarta Insingo...
