My birthday is coming up and my wife is going to buy me a knife:D and i've got to pick it out.I need some help fellows, I've been looking at some of GEC's knives and the case sod buster in cv, already have a soddie in stainless. Help me out with your suggestions, price range will probably be around the 100 dollar mark at the max.:D

I've only just ordered my first GEC myself so I can't comment on them from personal experience yet, however the sodbuster jr in cv is a great knife. Given the price point you mentioned and the affordability of the sodbuster jr you might be able to swing both...

Thats a hard call. I could probably suggest a bout a dozen knives, but thats not what you asked.
Although I have yet to own one, the general thought of GEC's is that they are a very nice production knife. Now if you can just narrow it down, because they offer a lot of choices :D

I'm a huge fan of GEC, and it comes down to personal preference: how big, how many blades, etc. Case is awesome too, but I wouldn't waste a birthday present for a Case soddie. The most similar (sorry for the poor, or at best awkward English) GEC would be a single blade #73 in any of the divers handle materials they offer.

If you could wait a little, that Case Backpocket looks like its gonna be a real winner

thanks fellows, I'm leaning more toward the gec's the more that I look at them. Looking at their trappers and scouts.

Northfield #72 pattern lockback trapper. Beautiful swedged 1095 clip blade, with threaded bolster.
In bone, $90-$95, and ready for anything.
