I am looking to make a bit cover and would like to see some or hear some ideas.. Kind of a what works what doesn't kind of thing..I am going to use leather for this one, maybe a kydex down the road on my next hawk mod but this one is more of a traditional type

Thanks..
Jeff

Keep it simple. You will regret trying to put too much detail or features
on a kydex sheath as well as a leather one.

See what works for you, buy some leather and experiment with what you like
and what you dislike.

Other than that, I don't have many suggestions.

I like Drummerist's sheath, that's pretty slick!

Here's a couple that Goose 52 made for me, they're simple but nice and effective.
