Bit the bullet and ordered a Wicked Edge Pro Pack

Cool, thanks. I wanted to make sure as it's coming tomorrow and I am picking it up on my way to work. I am on nights for a week, and want to start playing with it on my breaks lol. I live on the farm I work for so I only have to move it across the street in the morning.

Well I got the sharpener today and have already reprofiled/sharpened a skyline for practice, my 0561, and my 0350. Does take some time to get that bur the first time but seems pretty quick after that. Getting pretty good results but I think I'm going to want to pick up the super fine ceramics and smaller micron strops to get more of a mirror polish. I did scuff up the side of the clamp a little while working on the 0561, was putting a 30 degree inclusive edge on and didn't realize the bottom of the stone was hitting it until it was too late.

Wow! 30 degree inclusive? Is that a new reprofile or did you do that previously?
Really curious to know how the edge holds up. Please let us know in a future thread!

It is what zt knives supposedly come as, both the 0350 and 0561 were a little off so it did take some reprofiling. Doesn't last as long as 40 degrees (i know because I have had this edge prior to the wicked edge on other knives) but is stupid sharp and as long as you touch it up before it gets really dull is maintainable. Cutting nylon bailing twine at work dulls anything pretty quick in my experience so I am just doing the 30 thing for now.

I love my wicked edge, got it from bob at oldawan tools. Great service and UNBEATABLE price! ! Great purchase, you'll love it.

It does take a while to reprofile an edge, sometimes several hours. Remember to take your time and raise a burr on both sides with the 100 grit red stones before moving up. I think that's the #1 problem people who are new to the WEPS seem to run into.

I've never had a problem with this. Several hours? The longest it ever took me to reprofile an edge on the wicked edge was probably 10 minutes.

I was thinking the same thing, several hours on the WEPS sounds way too long just to reprofile an edge. Part of the advantage of the system is that it won't take near that long. Sharpmaker? Yes. But not the WEPS.

Been off the forum for a while - super busy!

Thanks Brent - pleasure doing business with you

Will do bob it is actually you I purchased from. Heard great things about you and was very pleased with the thorough email I got for an order confirmation. That awesome service really sets you apart in my eyes.

I ordered a Pro pack with an angle cube and a set of the 1200/1600 ceramics about aweek ago. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

I plan to break the stones in on my kitchen knives and then go to my personal knives.

If people, besides close friends and family, ask me to sharpen their knives for them, whats a fair price to charge?
