Biting the bullet.

I was thinking you were selling 2nd and 3rds of the same models you had of a particular knife. I would always keep the 1 offs I had in a collection, just sell the duplicates. Though I only have 1 offs because I can't personally afford duplicates, and would rather have more models of a brand.

Some I do have multiples of the exact same knife, and some I have knives that duplicate the same function very closely. I go through stages in my collecting where I concentrate on one style or maker, buy several of that type, then get interested in a different type or brand. My "collection" is all over the place, from slip joints to "fighters" to brushcraft to whatever.

That's exactly what I'm talking about BF'; at least you are a man who knows what he likes, and uses them daily! Even the retiring of your Marbles camp knife is justified as it now has some 'history' of why it's in your collection. AND you found a worthy replacement in the BRKT. Congrats to you on your engagement, and knowing what is right to do in your situation.

I was given the Marbles Ideal (6" blade with a tigerwood handle) by my father when I was about 10 years old -- it was sort of the start of my interest in knives.

That's enough 'history' in and of itself to garner the premium place in your display case. I'd have a picture of my father and I right next to it. You seem to have a true collection that knife nuts love to look at, which is actually what makes it valuable. Being 'all over the board' gives a depth to your knife knowledge that folks who collect a single style or brand miss out on IMO.
