Hi all, how about this for close, a 1 inch diameter sapling i was chopping up into 5 inch lenghts to use for triggers for rabbit traps, i cut the first one off leaning it on a fence post but it was more like 7 inch so holding it on the post i raised my NMFBM and brought it straight down across the second joint on my index finger! And i thought it was the ultimate chopper..... well i,ve got news for you..... i,ve STILL got 4 fingers on my left hand:D
The photo was taken on a cell phone...enjoy.:)

Ouch! Glad everything is still attached! It's amazing how sharp INFI can be and just the slightest contact can cut deep.

No, i put a splint on the under side of my finger and taped it solid for a couple of weeks, changed the dressing everyday, it healed quite well. If it had come off...trust me i.d have gone to hospital.

Holy Crap!!!!

Glad you are OK. Just be careful, once they get a taste for blood you're in trouble.

LOL Thanks Garth i,ve sent her to the naughty step with no sheath, she can sit there and think hard about what she,s done.

YEEEEE Friggin OUCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you are alive. :)

Is that all the chopping power you got in ya:confused:

J/K:p Hope its not to bad, but would get stiches if it is. I always did as a meatcutter when needed so it would heal faster, which they will.
I've cut myself about as much playing with folders daily...got myself with a sebbie two weeks ago and it is taking forever to heel since I didn't want to fool with stiches, which was a mistake.

Its also a good thing that cut is on top of hand...can't go any deeper than the bone. Other side of hand and it would have went much deeper.

Good luck with it healing quickly for you:thumbup:

Super glue it back together after cleaning it well, its better than stitches, something I learned in the service.

Many times, I have thought... whew, thank God there is a bone inside there to stop that blade. ;) :D

been there. I have had to go get stitches twice in a year. The last trip may never recover. I severed the nerve in my right thumb. I knew it was bad when it sprayed blood. I rolled the edge on the bone. It still gives a shock when I bump it, or water hits it, or I grab anything without being careful.

I knew it was going to be a problem the instant the blade cut. The thumb went instantly numb.

My FBMLE cut the back of two of my fingers on my right hand right the joint too.

Hopefully I won't have to go back to the emergency room any time soon, although the emergency room stitches guy was much much much better than my family doctor who did the stitches on the back of my fingers. He kept stabbing my finger and going through the wound and finally gave up on numbing it, because he could not hold his hands still enough to get the needle in. He kept poking the needle all the way through and then squirting the numbing stuff out on my shirt. Then he kept missing with stitches. He did more stitches through my finger in places where it was not cut than he made successful stitches though the cut. After a couple of stitches though my finger about 1/4 inch away from where it was actually cut, he gave up and called it good with only three stitches, which tore out a day or two later.
